Stanford/Scott Frost

Semi off-topic... when thinking of Frost I thought of Alaska. Now, I wonder... does Alaska even have a D2 team?? Surely they have a team up there??

Sources with direct knowledge state Scott Frost is not a candidate for the open head football position at Stanford.

There is no way Frost would win at Stanford. Stanford is going to be a very tough place to win moving forward. They are going to really struggle to compete with NIL and the transfer portal being an issue. No coach that couldn't win at Nebraska would win at Stanford.

Between 2021 and 2022 because of investment declines Stanford's endowment value went from $40.1 billion to $36.3B. NU's endowment is $1.7B. Don't you think Stanford has money to put in NIL?

NIL doesn't come from universities. Think of it as a legal way for businesses and boosters to pay athletes. You know, so they don't have to work at Cushman's or a car dealership or just get a bag of money.

Can’t use institutional money for NIL.

Yes - the endowment can’t be touched

However, it is a barometer of booster and university friendly business wealth which is where NIL money is generated (if they are inclined to give to athletic pursuits)

Michigans endowment is around 18 billion - Ohio states 7 billion
UNL - 2 billion

Grinnell college has a bigger endowment than UNL

The size of the endowment doesn’t matter. It’s all about the motion of the offenses
