Another day, another practice.

Notes, Quotes and Videos:

- Dan Hoppen, Dark-horse candidate to win the fullback job: Luke McNitt. Kid’s a great athlete and has experience from position changes.

- Brunt, Wide receivers coach Keith Williams said he has kept an extra eye on freshman Derrion Grim to make sure the transition to college — school work, learning the offense, etc. — is going well.

More notes:

— Keith Williams said that as far as he knows De’Mornay Pierson-El is on track to be back on the field prior to the start of fall camp.

— Armstrong said one of the things he’s done a much better job of is finding the check down receivers, rather than necessarily looking to make a play with his legs immediately.

- Brian Christopherson, Even though there hasn't been a lot of live tackling to the ground, the practices can turn physical even when they're not supposed to. "Guys on the defense are always tackling when they're not supposed to," said H-back Graham Nabity. "That's just kind of how football is. And us offensive guys are hitting too hard sometimes. It's football."

- Kaipust,

But Langsdorf said it can be an across-the-board effort, including David Knevel at right tackle, Jerald Foster at left guard and Tanner Farmer and Corey Whitaker at right guard. Farmer got a mention after practice Tuesday from both Langsdorf and NU line coach Mike Cavanaugh.

“I think we’re showing some physicality up there with that group, and I think they’re starting to come together,” Langsdorf said. “It’s hard to get that after 10 days, but I think they’re working towards that and I think they’re doing some good things.”

- Tommy Armstrong, “Like I said, I'm just understand everything a lot more than I did last year. I think Coach (Danny Langsdorf) has helped us out as a quarterback group as a whole of just knowing where to go with the ball, understanding coverages … and finding your check down. I think that’s something I’ve done more this spring. If it’s not there, I’ll try to make a play with my legs and be smart with the ball.”

- Nick Gates was over heard saying, during practice, "I have no friends."

Best thing I've read on these practice reports. Competition, mean streaks, physicality. Can't have enough of it.

I dig this video. Timing is everything on that jet play.

Please don't be a lie. That could make all the difference in the world. Or: go ahead and use your legs, just don't chuck it Uncle Rico style.

I thought those were some bad clips of the QB's they picked. Kind of gave me a laugh watching Tommy throw into double coverage. Agree though jeans.

LOL.. On that play the pass was so accurate, I said I hope that DB is there on purpose in a drill to help with ball placement. Cause that was straight double coverage. Laughing
