Sportsbook.ag has Nebraska at 8.5 wins, -145 over.

All they accept is bitcoin now, no?

You get a much better bonus deposit, but they still accept credit cards.

I am out once it goes "on-shore." These guys are fooked at that point.

The fact remains, it's -145 at over 8.5, which is basically saying "plus money" can go under.

Given our recent shitty track record, I'd say Vegas is setting a line and payout that favor the overs, IMO

Ok I'm naive when it comes to this kind of gambling. What does the -145 actually mean?? Thanks from the sports book 101 class.

100 pays roughly 70cents.

Betting Nebraska isn't straight-up money. It pays less than par. Bet under and your odds are positive. 100 wins 110cents. +110 on the under right now, for all the haters.

Vegas does this to equalize the money flow.

At this point, we are favs to hit the over, in Vegas opinion.

And don't give me the "Nebraska always bets overs" argument. People think we suck, nationwide. Get out of Nebraska and ask somebody.

So, maybe I'm missing something. You said -145. I'm just trying to understand the mathematical coloration. I get what you are saying in your response about the +110. But I don't get where 100@-145 pays 70. Sorry if I am thick skulled

You're not thick-skulled. I never understood this bookie shit very well, either.

if the line is -145, you have to bet $145 to win $100
if the line is +145 you win $145 if you bet $100.

So if you take Nebraska -145 to win 9 games and they win 8, you lose $145 on the bet. If Nebraska wins 9, you win $100

Since he didn't tell us what the odds were on the under, I am just going to use the 145 for ease of explanation.

If you bet $100 that Nebraska doesn't win 9 games and they win 9, you lose $100. If they only win 8, you win $145.

I think I explained that correctly.

Regardless, right now, my heart says take the over on 8.5, however I'll wait until I know the skinny on Maurice. If good to go, the money will flow.....if it stays at 8.5

That I understand or at least can make the math make sense. So basically everything is based off$100, or think of it that way.

Got it. I'm a simple man

You did, but I explained on 100. Most people don't bet 145 to win 100.

Carry on.

Hard to say, but the under 8.5 pays +110 right now.

So if you think Nebraska sucks, you get paid "plus" money to bet it.

I don't think we lose less than 9.

And I gamble a lot.

And it's not +145 Tuco, it's +110.

Vegas always gets the middle.

But that does make me want to bet the under a little bit more.

It's math.

One thing to remember that when betting individual games, it usually costs you $10 to place the bet.

If Nebraska is a 34 point favorite in the opener, the line will say -34 and you assume it is -110. South Alabama is +34 -110. There are times where they reduce or increase the vig to adjust the action on a game. Using the Nebraska - South Alabama game, Nebraska is actually -34 -108, meaning they are giving you a discount on the vig. So if you bet $100 you win $92 or if you bet $108, you win $100. Where if you bet South Alabama, you are winning $90 if you bet $100 or $100 if you bet $110

I'll say it once more, and I'm on record, Vegas has us way, way over.

Not getting into the "Public" nor the sharps.

Lots of haters.

Typically 100 wins 90 (-110) and vice versa, Vegas keeps the spread if both sides are equal. That's why the lights shine bright in Vegas.

If you don't understand this you're a dunce.

Plus they usually get the .5 so it actually gives them a game fudge in their favor.

That's why when I won 8 quarters on a 1 quarter slot machine I cashed out and left. Wasn't big but it was an 8:1 ROI. I left a winner!!
