Like to pass along to everyone that loves College Football books and College Football History like myself, SI has just came out with a new college football book which has tremendous color photos and plenty of Nebraska teams and players show cased in the hard cover coffee top table book.

Just some tid bits to pass along in the book.
The 10 Best Single Season Teams: are #1 1995 Nebraska #2 1971 Nebraska.

The 10 Best Programs: #1 Alabama #2 Notre Dame #3 Ohio St # 4 Michigan #7 Nebraska.
Shows a great Picture of the Nebraska sidelines before the 1986 Oklahoma kickoff, the game Nebraska wore all Red uniforms great picture of Tom Osborne along side Steve Taylor and NFL official Clete Blakeman with helmets in the air..

Enjoy if anyone is interested.

Still get a kick out how all these publications vastly over rate the Michigan football program.

You do realize they mean all time and not just the present of course with ND at #2 I'm sure you figured that out...

You'd be surprised who they have for the 10 Best Head Coach's. It's all subjective in all the categories..

Like I disagree with the #1 on the Top 10 Best Regular- Season Games.

Yea, and your point is? Their greatest coach doesn't even have a championship. They are called Mythican for a reason, and can't think of a more fitting nickname for a school.

I still think 1971 Nebraska was the best team of all time. Look at the coaching staff, Head Coach Bob Devaney, Offensive Coordinator Tom Osborne, and Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffen. The best defense in the country featured a defensive that had an All American defensive end, an Outland Trophy winning defensive tackle, and a future Outland Trophy winning nose guard. The offense was balanced could throw and run equally well. Offense was probably top 15 in the country and featured the most explosive player in college football. The return game was the best in the country because of Johnny Rodgers, who of course went on to win a Heisman,.

The younger Husker fans who weren't born yet or way younger to remember will always say the 1995 team but only one team in college football history beat the #2,#3,#4 teams at seasons end in the country and that was Devaney 1971 Nebraska team.

The 1971 Oklahoma team along with our 1983 team were two great teams that didn't win the national title but any other year they would have easily.

The 1995 team is consistently ranked higher than the 1971 team. Funny thing is they are almost always listed #1/#2. I wouldn't get offended. No one got close to that 1995 team. One thing we can agree on, they were both great teams!

That is because it is fresher to more people that actually seen the 1995 team wether you're a Nebraska or any other College football fan comparing teams like our 95 teams get compared to 2001 Miami or 2004 USC and almost the 2016 Bama Gump team..

95 team beat 4 teams in the top 10 but not one of them( or even combined) were as good as the 1971 Oklahoma Sooners...

big boxes how old were you in 1971?

I agree that the '71 Sooners were one of the great teams. Thing is no one remembers the loser. Example: 1983 Huskers. Just a fact. That team meant so much to me. Couldn't close the deal. If they had '82 defense they'd probably be MNC. Same with 2001 team. If they had 1999 defense. Some times things align. 1971 and 1995 were such times. I've watched the 1971 game many times. Great team. That game with OU could have gone either way. It was the difference in who is remembered and who wasn't.

Still didn't answer my question how old are you because from your post you weren't born yet in 1971 so you didn't see the whole 71 season how dominating they were except for the game of the century.
