I dont know what state this is, I can only speak to nebraska.
The two that might recruit are creighton prep (but class A and literally every class A school in nebraska does) and parkview christian, they are d2. Recruiting happens a lot at some public schools, but not most. I have witnessed more recruiting for sports from public schools than private.
As far as the school you listed, the hyperbole doesnt help your case. Theres no way Meige, whoever that is, has a roster “full” of recruited players. Believe it or not at least some of their good players are there regardless of the basketball coach offering them a scholarship. Cmon.
My case? I don’t have a case I’m trying to explain the situation. This is why Kansas has this bill. It’s not hyperbole, maybe look into the school (and others like them) before just assuming otherwise.
This isn’t Parkview Christian. Miege has players from all over. 5 star basketball players like Bol Bol and Mark Mitchell (who both ironically left their Sr years for Sunrise Christian, who probably also doesn’t recruit, right?). I linked a story above about a NFL player who grew up in the inner city on the Missouri side and went to Miege (but they don’t recruit or waive tuition for athletes right).
They do not play by the same rules as everyone else and they beat up on small town schools all year because of the way KSHSAA operates. That’s why this has gotten to where it has in Kansas. And I find it odd that people that don’t even know who these schools are can jump in and assume they aren’t doing anything wrong and just work harder or whatever other nonsense keeps being spewed in this thread.
