Sorry guys and girls

If you're proud of that performance...well that's just sad. Purdue may have been the worst team in the country and we couldn't even put them away. I foresee some pretty bad beatdowns the next couple of weeks. Don't forget Bo got 9 wins.. Let's see how these next few weeks play out before you start talking playoffs or even Big 10 championship game.

3-3 coming in and the worst team in the country??? LOL...Have another drink. Geez...

I'm proud of it so go make some tears.

Meant conference, but still. Who has been our best win? Anyone with a pulse? I didn't think so. I'd say prepare for an asswhooping next week but you're too busy celebrating a close win over mighty Purdue. Gee golly! What does it say about this coaching staff to have an offensive line play this bad? Where's the depth? They sure have coached em up!

It's posts like this that are why I feel like I need to apologize for being 7-0.

Coming in to a week where we had significant injuries against a team there was no film for game plan wise because they just changed head coaches and were going to be different on both sides of the ball I'm satisfied with the adjustment the coaches made to what they saw. The defense gave up sub 100 yards in the second half and the offense found enough to win the game.

Our oline hasn't had any consistency week to week in whos playing so the communication wasn't there and Purdue was committing 9 guys to stop the run to make Tommy beat them. We did it, and now we have a week of consistency from the oline to work on communication and the execution break down in the film room before facing a team with a good defense and an anemic offense like we do.

I'll take it.

I mean I see little improvement but we are just getting the lucky bounces our way this year compared to last year. Same crap penalties, bad play calling, and now we can't return punts or block for punts.

So crawl back into your hole and wait for our 1st loss. Most of us are enjoying our best start in 15 years. And if we lose the next two, so be it. Who was picking us to win those at the beginning of the season???? Run along now....

Winning is winning, and I'm all for it. But struggling against a team at home who just fired their head coach doesn't exactly raise my confidence level.

Lol. You can go ahead and explain how the "worst team in the country" beat 3 other teams. God some of our fans are so dense that it is insufferable.

What does it say about the last staff that they would be held up on golden thrones for this same 7-0 start?

Winning is winning, and I'm all for it. But struggling against a team at home who just fired their head coach doesn't exactly raise my confidence level.

We took the best shot from a team who had nothing to lose with no offensive game film on tape. Yes we fell behind, but our defense clamped down when they adjusted to what they were doing and our offense without it's two best receiving weapons and a line that was playing together for the first time in a few week and arguably not 100 percent, did enough to win.

We have a week to get our lineman gelled and to fix the communication/executional issues in the film room. I think we have a good chance at beating Wisconsin.

What won't happen, an NCAA rushing record and a 70 point thumping.

We won that is a good thing however to struggle against this team does not bode well for the rest of the year.

This is NU not Iowa, you can understand those idiots thinking they were a top four team last year, when everyone told them it was schedule. NU fans should be better than that, we know good and we know what top teams look like and for the 7th game of the season against a bottom feeder team that just fired its coach and had Ross Els as the D.C. We did not look like a top 25 team and that is very disappointing at this stage of Riley era

Huge difference between this year and last. You're blind if you don't see improvement. We didn't have a great game but we are missing some key guys on offense, the D gave up really only 2 plays today against a good passing team with nothing to lose (they put up what? 35 points? on Iowa). It was some pretty vanilla play calling today. Let's see what happens next week before all the haters start in. Also remember, in no way shape or form did any expect us to compete for a title this year. We just don't have the talent yet

I don't get where criticizing my favorite team means I want them to lose. You know this is a message board and some people may have a different opinion than you right?

I'm just saying based on today, there's no way this team goes out and beats Wisconsin or Ohio State. Same sloppy play the last two weeks. Offensive line seems to be getting worse. And "Lockdown U" giving up big pass plays again.

Yeah, I mean Nebraska isn't on the level of Georgia State, they should be terrified of Wisconsin...

This stage? You mean year two?

7-0 is 7-0, yea they haven't played great on offense, but the defense is good.

If the line gets their consistency issues worked out we will be fine.

I bet you can't wait. Dynamite Husker fan you are.

Actually hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see this team go on a ridiculous run to the playoffs. But I just don't see it. Sorry if I find barely beating garbage teams kind of a bummer. Was expecting more today.

How much time should we budget for celebrating and how much time to prepare for an asswhooping? It's a week so isn't there plenty of time for both?

"Hope I'm wrong". That must be why you are bragging about being back next week to show all of us fools who enjoy being 7-0.

That guy was hoping this staff would fail since day 1. Really has to chap his ass to see the team 7-0. Trust me, he is waiting until the first loss to enjoy himself here again.

Celebrate the 7-0, I will be all week because I know the next 2 weeks could be a beat down of Biblical proportions!

You win games by line play & our O-line couldn't push a rolling pin downhill! It isn't a one week blimp it's been two weeks solid with another two games that showed tendencies.

Our defensive line wasn't much better in first half. Our 9 yard cushion on WR's (bend don't break) will now hurt us as we play the best teams in our schedule.

Bad special teams blocking will hurt us too.

I'm happy and celebrating the 7-0 what a great start. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. I am just praying that the signs I'm seeing will not produce an embarrassing blow out loss for the next 2 weeks.

Okay - perfect example of two extremes. Bo Pelini was a POS, could not recruit or coach in the P5 environment, and created a toxic environment. He needed to go! Bringing that psycho up as any kind of comparison is delusional. On the flip side, saying you are proud of this performance is a stretch. Were you praising the Iowa Hawkeyes last year? Up till now, that is exactly what we have done. The offensive line was owned by a sub par group. We allowed a bad, bad team to look like a top 25 team. I'm glad these boys didn't give up and that we are defeated, but I certainly don't hold any illusions that we are a top 10 team. In fact, after today, I question whether we are legitimately in the top 20?

I like how Riley has turn this team around and am encouraged by his focus on recruiting, game adjustments, etc. I will continuing rooting for them every game from here on.

If my comments make me a hater, then so be it...

Call me Kirk Herbstreit or whatever his name is. We've played no one. But we've beaten every team put in front of us and that's great. But I just think Wisconsin is the better football team. As much as it pains me to say. At least their defense looks good. Offensively idk. I would love to see us bottle up Corey Clement and beat Wisc for his flip phone comments a while back, though. Especially at their house. It'll be a huge game for sure. (And one that'll prob give me a heart attack)

I'll beat the drum until I'm blue in the face, the lack of consistency is killing our offensive line. They need to all play together to gel, so this week hurt but it will give them something to fix in the film room next week as a unit.

Also if Ed was right they said high ankle sprain with our ankle injuries on the line. Those take time to work back from, so it may have been a factor

I haven`t seen anyone talking playoffs. Most are smart enough to realize the next 2 weeks will be extremely tough. You do realize most of the OL is hurt and we have no depth. Let`s see who was that last guy that coached here and was responsible for our lack of depth?

I`ve never seen so many fans that can`t enjoy a football season.
