When we got rid of foul-mouthed, ill-tempered Bo Pelini and Riley showed up I swore I'd love him til the end of time. Sunday I'll know if I'm praying for the end of time.

BTW, Last weekend was Meatloaf's 70th. When I used to see him sweating and huffing and puffing on stage, I never thought he would make it this long (glad he did)

My wife is in Nashville (Great city, I just didn't want to go all that way just to spend one day at her family's reunion, 4 1/2-5 hour flight) so it is going to be an all football Saturday. I will go to our Farmer's Market early. grab some stuff for dinner. Watch games all day. I've marinated a tri-tip roast that I will barbecue using the rotisserie. Neighbors are coming over for the Husker game. One grew-up in Milwaukie, went to Marquette, both Prep and University and got an MBA from Northwestern. He claims to be fan of his native state's University and the two colleges he attended depending on which way the wind is blowing. (He's pretty confident about the outcome of the game). Sunday I will take the dogs out and go quail hunting. If I am lucky I will bag some chukar too. Chukar are fast and love steep rocky ground. You need to be part mountain goat to hunt them. Work from the top of the hill down or work across the side of the hill. Can't catch up to them from below. They will hold for a pointing dog, but not if the dog is below them. I know some of you shoot them at preserves back in the Midwest. Trust me, hunting them in the wild is a lot tougher.

The beer for tomorrow will be Octoberfest Lager from Bayern Brewery, Missoula, MT.

(I helped one of my other neighbors unload some boxes of apples this afternoon. She has company from Springfield, Oregon. Not too far from Eugene. They have season tickets for the Ducks. Big fans. They saw my Husker hat. There was some friendly kidding about the game. I told them the Cougs are going to beat the Ducks tomorrow. One of them then told me, "Yea, Nebraska use to be Good".)

In town for game from Plano, ready to roll! Crowd needs to be loud and nasty, ready here
Hit me up if you want to grab a beer or whiskey at our tailgate. We are under the viaduct West of the stadium.

We are having a tailgate in the Pinnacle Arena/softball field lot. You’re more than welcome to swing out and grab some food/beer.

I'm thinking I might have to buy a TV today...or get busy inviting myself to somewhere that has a TV....
