I'm watching the 2015 NU v MSU game and have gone through some plays where Armstrong scrambles in slow motion. I did this as another RSS'er made a comment that we should inherently see better OL play because blocking for TA was difficult because they couldn't predict where he was going to be at any given time.
I have to say that just in the 1Q alone, there were several times where it looked like TA scrambled early (often not with any check downs) and was either tackled for a loss or marginal gain. In at least 50% of them it would appear that blocking was 'okay' and had TA stayed in the pocket and found a receiver we would have been fine.
What I couldn't see the coverage downfield so I can't judge whether coverage was strong. However, it really does seem that Tanner Lee may indeed be easier to block for. Couple this with what appears to just be a stronger OL and I'm feeling more confident that we can pull together a good season this year.
I hope that this also opens up the run game as well.
