Somebody's jimmies are rustled.

Looks like he has been Chief of Staff at Miami the last few years. I wonder if he will be able to recruit the kinds of athletes “Coach Prime” did at Jackson State? I don’t see why he couldn’t.

Former Bull Reggie Theus is the AD at B-C
I met Reggie Theus in Vegas probably 20 years ago. Was walking in to Bellagio and some fat white woman in a cheap baggie white TShirt was squealing at him to let her take his picture. He graciously said sure to which I said “gimme your camera it would be a lot better with you in it too”. He agreed and draped an arm over her shoulder. Seemed like a very nice guy. I thought she was gonna pee her pants.

Confirmed by Ed Reed in the Miami Herald. He was a 2*.
Cool stuff thanks. Reed and Troy (Polamalu) were never on the field at the same time but it always felt like a sort of indirect duel between the two of them. Both were fun to watch no matter who you were rooting for. It was always a treat watching Steelers-Ravens games when both teams were at their height 10-15 years ago

Does your wife still have that picture?

This is a trend I hope to see continue

The coaching industry is long overdue for a shakeup

Good one. IF I ever shared a picture of my wife there would be a lot of people on this board who would recognize her. She would never be caught dead anywhere in anything less than a designer outfit let alone in Las Vegas. I outkicked my coverage. Married a very pretty and smart woman. On my first date with her back in 1978 I literally had a random woman come up to our table and say “I just had to come over here to tell you how beautiful your girlfriend is”. 64 and still has it together.

I personally would have probably stayed on a headset in a box. He’s the boss now so he can do what he wants. He’s a doofus though so I’m sure it never occurred to him that it was a weird situation for his players. It’s a good thing for Wisconsin that the chemistry is so bad at OSU right now.

I like Ed Reed and hope he is happy and successful in this journey. But I really don’t understand your mindset here.

You really don’t think actual coaching matters? Learning how to run the program, how to hire and fire, how to organize and recruit. Actually coaching and reciting a position, or coordinating a side of the ball at a high level, and learning under someone who has been successful doesn’t have any value?

I know B-C isn’t a big time operation, but P5 football programs are big business. Do you really believe that anyone off the street can run these multi-million dollar programs, so we should forget finding guys with the best coaching and organizational skills and just hire the most entertaining guys, with the biggest name? Would you invent in a business that operated this way? Is this how you would pick a doctor, if you need medical treatment or a lawyer if you need legal help?

My guess is it has as much to do with fundraising. Deion brought a bunch of attention to Jackson St and that attention also brought some wallets. HBCUs are traditionally underfunded so this can't hurt

Watched a clip on Jackson St and their finances and Deion was basically accusing them of misusing some funds. New twist I hadn't heard before today...but he sold me that there might be sumthin fishy goin on at that place.

Good point. I think this hire makes all that sense in the world for B-C, I just don’t get that premise that the industry is long overdue for a “shake up”. That coaching doesn’t matter and it’s good for the game to hire celebrities with no coaching background to run college football programs.

Didnt Jackson have a bad drinking water situation in the town? Deion used them and they used him.
