Here is a little perspective on "offers." from my experience in the basketball realm of things. I've been a high school basketball scout for 30 years and have worked for ESPN, Bob Gibbons, etc...In my experience these so-called "offers" are BS much of the time. Many times I've interviewed kids and they'll claim offers from various schools. Then, I talk to the coaching staff and they deny the offer, but say they are definitely "interested.". Many times an offer can primarily mean the coaching staff is interested. There have been a plethora of times kids I have scouted that had a these so-called offers heading into their senior season, but they suspiciously disappear when a player is ready to visit the campus or commit. Unless the kid has made an "official" visit, than that is the case where the offer is valid in my experience. In addition, home visits is usually a telling sign that an offer is on the table...that's just been my experience.

Now did Porcher get these so-called "offers" because of his dad's legacy or talent, I'm not sure because I've haven't been apart of any of those conversations. This has just been my experience.
