I stayed off the board most of the OSU week for a reason. The game scared the crap out of me. A few reasons:

TA passing percentage in conference games- 52.1%. (He's now 49.7%).

Rushing yards per attempt in conference:

NW- 6.59 (Last game Nebraska was reasonably healthy).
ILL- 4.14
Pur- 4.24
Ind- 3.37
Wisc-.3.45

OSU is 2 seasons removed from the first CFB playoff. Nebraska is 2 years removed from firing a coach.

Tim Beck- he's hasn't worked with TA in 2 seasons, but he did for the prior 3. I think the guy knows a bit about the guy.

So barely completing 50% and progressively worse running stats vs lesser opponents and you expected what exactly????? Spare me the opponet score comparisons. Under that logic you can make the argument that Nebraska was better than OSU last year. It's about match-ups week to week.

On top of everything, playing the most taleneed team on the schedule. A team that lost pretty much on a fluke to PSU, and then looked lackluster playing NW a week before playing a top 10 Nebraska. Anyone remember what OSU did to a top 10 Michigan last year.when they got their $#&! together. Looks like they got it together.

I'm not making excuses, I'm pointing out reality. The team had to know they were going to have to play damn near perfect for a chance to win. How does it start? Pick 6. Drive down the field with a chance to tie it at 7, field goal, TA knocked out of the game, downward spiral, and we got boatraced. All my concerns about Nebraska's weaknesses that I brought up on this board before the season came out. There's a reason the spread was what it was.

So of course I expected the Riley bitching to come out again, and to that I'll ask again, remember what OSU did to Michigan last year?

So right now a beat to hell Nebraska team is exactly where I had hoped they'd be in August, in a BEST case scenario.

I'm not down on the team and I'm not bitching about the coaches. I'm hopefull the future brings us more depth at the lines and QB play that can complete passes at a higher percentage (like mid 60s). I love TA's heart, but this ain't Nebraska of the 90s, and you can't complete passes at roughly the same percentage as Frazier and be successful without being that type of team, and sure as hell can't do it getting less than 4 yards a carry vs Indiana.

So now, possibly no TA for Saturday. Better be prepared for a tough final 3 weeks. It is what is is.

This was my secret concern as well.
I was very disappointed in the play of Fyfe as well. 5 of 18 for 52 yards and a 28% completion percentage. I was very surprised in how that turned out, especially the defense to be honest.

OSU is an elite team. NU is good on its best day, whose record is what it is due to one of the weakest schedules in a while. I expected a loss, but didn't expect the team to not show up...that was surprising. Each of the remaining 3 games are a toss up, IMO. If TA is out for any of them, our odds are worse.
