Just some brief notes on three linebacker recruits I spoke with today and I will be having full updates on all of them over the next few days.
2017 LB Avery Roberts
I've exchanged texts with 2017 Wilmington (Del.) Concord outside linebacker Avery Roberts and he will be arriving in Lincoln on April 10 to tour NU's campus and facilities and he will be staying the next day to attend the Red-White spring game.
The 6-foot-2,215-pounder already has an offer from Nebraska, as well as Penn State, Illinois, Rutgers, Temple and a couple others.
================
2016 LB Erick Fowler
Rivals100 outside linebacker Erick Fowler from Manor, Texas likes what Coach Trent Bray has been telling him about the Huskers' program and he wants to attend NU's spring game so he's trying hard to make that happen.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Fowler most recently was offered by Alabama and LSU and he will be visiting Baton Rouge and TCU in March.
===============
2016 LB Greg Simmons
Fort Pierce (Fla.) Central linebacker Greg Simmons committed to Miami a few weeks ago, but he said that Nebraska is officially and "definitely" his co-leader along with the Hurricanes.
New Cornhusker defensive backs coach Brian Stewart was recruiting Simmons while he was still at Maryland and he has continued to do that at Nebraska, along with linebackers coach Trent Bray.
Simmons was intending to attend Nebraska's spring game, but a scheduling conflict will keep him from making a visit to Lincoln on that date. He said that he would definitely be taking a trip to Nebraska over the summer though, and he is highly interested in seeing what the Huskers' program is all about.
===============
Again, look for full updates on all three of these linebacker recruits in coming days.
