This recruiting is great. But let's see how many of you jump ship if/when the team struggles for a game or two this year. We aren't making the playoff/competing for a national title without a magical season. This team needs a talent upgrade at some positions, experience at others, and development at some as well. It's a BUILDING process. Don't be those fans. When Riley was hired we knew it was going to take a year or two. Year one was a bit rocky at times but they survived the hard times and battled through it. I'm all in on Riley not because if his recruiting ability/coaching ability but because he actually cares & wants to be here unlike the last staff. A little bit of want to goes a long way and this staff has A LOT of "want to."
Just keep this in mind when looking at these recruiting updates. I know there will be some of you who start hollering for Riley's job at the first sign of adversity this year in a game we should dominate. Let's stay the course and not forget this is a 4 year process IMO before we start seeing results on the field we all want.
By no means am I saying we will miss a bowl, lose 5 games this year, etc. I am just reminding everyone we need to have patience on the field. Talent, recruits who fit the scheme, & development are on the way but take TIME. Until the last day HCMR is the football coach for the skers, I will firmly believe this is perfect fit and he will continue to set us up for success on and off the field.
