I have changed my thinking on verbals. I will no longer consider any commit a solid commit until signing day (there will be exceptions of course). The practice of kids locking in a slot and then taking trips is a trend that has been building and getting worse every year. I read an update the last couple of days somewhere that JoJo Dorman was considering taking a couple of visits along with all the others this year and we're looking at taking a kid committed to TTech..
I'm tired of getting excited about getting commits only to find out they are going to continue to take trips. I can appreciate both the pro's and con's of the kids decisions. If a kid is worried about losing his slot on a team he should be counseled on making the decision and sticking with it, There might be exceptions like a coach getting fired or put on the hot seat during the season or maybe the parents moving and the kid wants the parents to see him play, and I'm sure there are others but this crap of them continuing to shop themselves should stop.
