What changes are necessary to rectify this situation? today I totally disagree with the play calling where we expect Tommy to complete long throws instead of moving the chains. On defense we need LB's and DE's that can make some plays. i sure hope our OL improves in the off season and start to dominate the l.o.s. All the hope i had when we finally cracked the top 10 has eroded and no× i realize its gonna take longer than i thought to be competitive.

We lost in OT to Wisconsin a team that's in the top 10. We're an offensive line and a QB away. Our D got abused today by a guy that is going to play on Sundays. His LOS audibles were very good and his throws were VERY ACCURATE. That's something we didn't get today.

I think you nailed it. I can't wait to (someday?) see an offense that moves the chains instead throwing deep 10+ times a game and maybe completing 1 or 2. It just seems like a low percentage way to move the ball. What's funny, last week with Fyfe seemed like exactly what we should be doing. Are the long balls the play calls or is it Tommy just chucking it? So sick of 40 yard fly patterns on 3rd and 6.

Need huge improvement on D-Line. When they get blown off the LOS 3-5 yards, there is not much you can do and to compensate for it you end up giving up big plays.

Mainly our D ends. They are not even average IMO. Bo left us a HUUUGE hole there Good kids that play hard but they are no where near where they need to be to compete at the top levels.

See Colorado in year 4 with their coach and hope Nebraska can improve to being competitive in all games by 2018.
Colorado would have 4 losses in the B1G. I've watched several of their games and they suck. I would take TA over their QB ANY day of the week. Let's see what they do these next 2 games where they finally play some good teams....IF they get by Utah.

They just beat the hell out of a ranked wash state team, blew tons of chances against Michigan, and went toe to toe with a USC team, ON THE ROAD, and didn't get blown out. And I hate to break your bubble, but Colorado would beat Nebraska as badly as Iowa did today and both their qb's are very solid, and probably as good if not better than Tommy. Deal with it.

But, but.... if you come here every single week and say that Colorado is going to lose, eventually you'll be correct. Then you can say you were right about them all along.

Again...do you guys realize that Langs calls the plays but doesn't control who he throws it to? I'm sure langs doesn't want tommy throwing the ball 40 yards down field on 3rd and 4. That's a decision that's on tommy. This isn't play station where langs is deciding to chuck it deep. Also....this staff has only had one recruiting class. Kind tough to put Together a top 15 team with one recruiting class.

As I told all my friends, when Armstrong is not healthy we have zero chance against a good team. Had TA been in this physical condition against Oregon and Minnesota (all game), those are losses (he won those games in the end). But when he can't run, we're toast. I love the guy's heart, but he is who he is. He has two throws, short bullets that can be batted, and rainbow bombs that have to be on the money. When TA is hurt, my dumbass could be the D-Coordinator of another team and hold Nebraska in check.

Defensively, DE and LB is NOT championship caliber. Two rarely used DTs starting and two redshirt freshmen backing them up, well a long season will take it's toll.

I expected us to get beat, and potentially badly. I also expected Nebraska to be 6-6 or 7-5 at best. As I said above, had TA been in the condition he was today, against Minny and Oregon, those are probably losses.

9-3? Nebraska overachieved this season IMHO. Did Nebraska lose to the best teams on the schedule? Yes. That happened quite a few times to Osborne too!

I'm optimistic for the future. I hope the four redshirt freshmen OL pan out, and help with the severely lacking depth. I hope Tanner Lee can make the throws TA couldn't, and makes teams pay for loading the box. I hope the incoming freshmen receivers show they can contribute immediately.

As I just told my best friend, I really fail to see how anyone is surprised by the outcome today. JMHO.

I just don't understand why we have to have this conversation every time after a loss. It's not as if the coaches have had 4+ years to get their players in. Have you seen the line of scrimmage? We do not have the horses yet. Give these coaches a chance. Hudson, I do see some patience in your post, at least to see if the Lines develop into the horses we need.

9-3 with two of those losses to top 10 teams and people are bitching... in year two. I get the anger. I'm frustrated as well. But it is idiotic to suggest getting rid of this staff at this point.

I could see a change or two, but there will not be wholesale changes, nor should there be.

Agree. 20 years isn't enough time to objectively measure a coach's qualifications. We need another 2 years or so before we can fairly assess this staff.

STFU! According to guys like you Riley should have been 6-6 this year! Well guess what, he went 9-3 blowing your .500 coach projections out of the water... do you even hear how stupid you sound when you post crap like this?

Can't have it both ways... if he's a .500 coach then you should be celebrating this year... instead your bitching as loud as you possibly can... what gives?

LOL again, CU's QB is faaaaaar better than TA ever thought of being. Not to mention, he has an OC that tailors to his skill set. They run the ball, don't turn the ball over and have actually beaten some teams worth a crap, unlike Nebraska this year. I live in Denver, I actually had CU fans talking today about what it would take for CU to play Nebraska in the Rose Bowl because they knew they would absolutely spank us hard.

What gives? I'm a Nebraska fan, not Oregon State. A 9-3 record with 2 blowouts doesn't exactly excite me. In fact, isn't this the type of season that got our previous coach fired?

As far as mathematical averages go, you should prepare yourself for a probable 5-win season next year or the following year.

So if we go 9-3 or better next year like we likely will, are you gonna come on and remind us that we better prepare for 2-10 the following year? Can't wait...

9-3 or better with OSU, Wisconsin, Iowa and Penn State on the schedule? I'd say it's unlikely, but we'll see.

Yep, 9-3 will mean we will have to do something we didn't do this year... win as an underdog... put up or shut up time...
