As I told all my friends, when Armstrong is not healthy we have zero chance against a good team. Had TA been in this physical condition against Oregon and Minnesota (all game), those are losses (he won those games in the end). But when he can't run, we're toast. I love the guy's heart, but he is who he is. He has two throws, short bullets that can be batted, and rainbow bombs that have to be on the money. When TA is hurt, my dumbass could be the D-Coordinator of another team and hold Nebraska in check.
Defensively, DE and LB is NOT championship caliber. Two rarely used DTs starting and two redshirt freshmen backing them up, well a long season will take it's toll.
I expected us to get beat, and potentially badly. I also expected Nebraska to be 6-6 or 7-5 at best. As I said above, had TA been in the condition he was today, against Minny and Oregon, those are probably losses.
9-3? Nebraska overachieved this season IMHO. Did Nebraska lose to the best teams on the schedule? Yes. That happened quite a few times to Osborne too!
I'm optimistic for the future. I hope the four redshirt freshmen OL pan out, and help with the severely lacking depth. I hope Tanner Lee can make the throws TA couldn't, and makes teams pay for loading the box. I hope the incoming freshmen receivers show they can contribute immediately.
As I just told my best friend, I really fail to see how anyone is surprised by the outcome today. JMHO.
