This pleases me. But I’m greedy and perpetually dissatisfied. So I also want a portal OT, WR, LB, CB and a RB 🙂
I like how the coaches are handling the portal so far. More work to do. But I like what they have done so far
If a player wants more money, can’t they just go to 1890 and say “I want more money.” Is it necessary they go the portal route? I’m sure they think it puts pressure on the team they are pretending to leave to up the anty, but in the process, they make themselves look like nothing more than a prostitute, willing to service anyone for the right amount of money.
As suspected some of these players were just angling for more NIL money. I guess that's the power of a free market which is what college football has become.
I think he was the only TE Rhule didn't mention in his presser so he could be gone one way or another.
Some of the ones who entered but are not back out may have tried that and found out they aren't getting more to stay.
Do you honestly think he has interest from several high level SEC schools?

College athletics is not a "free market", as that requires payment for a good or a service with a contract to for specific performance and outcome from that good and service. We will have to get to this for it to work without ruining college athletics. In the meantime, some kids are going to get a reality check and others are going to get a bag of cash without any commitment to perform.

This seems odd to me. Carter Nelson will be ready to replace him anyway. At some point, you have to trust the young talent to step up, especially if they are more talented.
Yes, that's the risk some of those players face, especially with the limited roster sizes now. And Rhule said he won't take back some players who entered the portal.
