I asked him what he thought of the talent level when he got here, if it was better than he thought or worse. He quickly said "worse". I asked if it was the talent or the lack of training. He said it was a little bit of both. He couldn't believe how bad the strength and conditioning was. The players are making big gains and we will be proud of our team. We have a tough schedule but we will be a much different team.
He also didn't know who the starting qb would be but said it was a tight race. He did have a favorite in the qb race though.
I then talked to someone who is a roommate with one of the players. They said that there was a huge difference in this players strength and conditioning. Couldn't believe how much stronger he was. Biggest thing was the attitude with the team is totally different. It is more about earning your spot and working hard and much less about having a spot because you were more talented out of high school. The teams attitude is night and day different.
The attitude difference is what makes me most excited about this team and coaching staff. Excited for the season. GBR!!!
