SMU beats #11 Houston 38-16

Excellent. UH was probably depressed that UT doesn't love them.

But they beat a highly ranked Oklahoma team to start the year!?! How could SMU do that to them?

One more reason I dislike preseason rankings.

SMU handled them from start to finish. Surprised me for sure.

Join the "our coach should be fired" club Houston. I mean obviously Tom Herman needs fired losing to SMU is inexcusable, Dantonio needs fired, Urb probably needs fired they're only up on Penn St. 21-14 in the 4th, Stanford is 4-3 so obviously Shaw needs canned, Mullen at Miss St. is 2-4 should've been fired already, I can't believe that Gary Patterson still has a job at 4-3, and here we are stuck with Riley at 7-0.

I love it. Not that Tom Herman's not a great coach, but the lovefest for him was getting a little annoying. After they beat Oklahoma, the national media were already looking forward to their game with Louisville as if they could just cruise through the rest of their schedule with no problem. Now they are not only out of the playoff, but almost certainly out of a New Years Six bowl too.

That shine is coming off in a hurry. They still have another beat down coming in a couple weeks.

Their offense has some serious issues, and mostly because it's very predictable. They run it up the middle on first down almost every time, and they constantly put themselves in 3rd and long situations, though their third down offense is very good. If you look at Louisville's offense, they spread out a lot to give Lamar Jackson room to run up the middle. Houston's offensive line bunches up in the middle and there's not enough room for Ward to run if he needs to.
