Lincoln - Nebraska senior pitcher Chance Sinclair was named a third-team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American on Friday morning, announced by Collegiate Baseball. The Osawatomie, Kan., native was named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball following the 2014 season, becoming the first Husker pitcher since Johnny Dorn in 2008 to earn All-America honors.

Tabbed as a unanimous first-team All-Big Ten selection last season, Sinclair led the Huskers with a 9-1 record and a 2.15 ERA in 100.2 innings over 16 starts. On the year, Sinclair went 6.0 or more innings in 13 of his 16 starts, including nine outings of at least 7.0 innings or more and a 9.0-inning complete game against Ohio State on April 5. During Big Ten play, Sinclair was a perfect 6-0 in eight starts with a 2.10 ERA, including a 10-strikeout performance in his final home start of the year against Illinois on May 15. It was the most strikeouts in a conference game by a Husker since Thad Weber sat down 11 against Kansas in 2008.

At the 2014 Stillwater Regional, Sinclair started NU's first NCAA Tournament game since 2008 and took a no hitter into the seventh inning against Cal State Fullerton. On the afternoon, Sinclair retired the first 14 Titan batters he faced before he issuing a two-out walk in the fifth, but didn't factor into the decision.

Sinclair joined the Huskers last season following two seasons at Neosho County CC where he set multiple school records.

The Huskers open the 2015 season on Friday, Feb. 13, in Las Vegas, Nev., when they open a three-game series against the UNLV Rebels.
