I will mess up the details below but the gist will be correct..

Couple of years ago, when it looked like here was the possibility of an NFL strike, some blogger published something alluding to the pay the NFL commish gets regardless. Goodell actually called the guy, just so no name fan mind you, and had a conversation with him. Goodell told that guy he would take a salary of 1 dollar for the year if the strike wasn't avoided and play didn't go on as scheduled. In other words, he stuck his neck out.

Fast forward to yesterday.....If SE really said this, it sounds to me like SE is sticking his neck out and would like to prove he's worth it before he signs it. I think that's pretty freaking awesome, assuming all my "if's", and this original post/story, are true.
