WTF!!! That hurts this team sooooooo bad it's not even funny!Best of luck to him... he has until May 25 to change his mind.
79% chance he comes back and plays for the Huskers next year.
9% chance he gets paid and decides to go NBA.
12% chance he goes to another school as a graduate transfer.
That's what I am hearing anyway.... From voices in my own head.
Yep. Every single player on Kentucky roster declared some without an agent to see what NBA thinks of them. Smart move by White to gauge where he's at. I think he comes back, but a sliver of concern something could shift his mind away. The people freaking out are not familiar with the new rules. He would be stupid not to declare
I'd say "not going well" is an understatement. The program looks like a sinking ship right now.I have a feeling he will be back. The issue is that he will graduate in May so he may not want to come back. Things are not going well for Coach Miles right now.
Any update on the big man search? Haven't heard or seen any activity lately...
Good news is it appears to be Minnesota or Nebraska and Minny has (currently) no available scholarships and it will be clear that he will be an instant starter (or at least significant minutes) at Nebraska. I'll take my chances.

I thought attendance was just average... Like the spring game, right Cheese? You got it wrong. It's not the fans job to secure a recruit, that's up to the coaches. It's nice to feel that the fans have a special role in this process but you're kind of kidding yourself with that mentality.
Plenty of home attendance from the fans this last season, which was a tough one, if you need to convince a prospect that the fans here are supportive...

Wow, thanks for the clarification. A thread about attendance at a spring game, where everyone is talking about attendance figures, you interject that we're not good, just average. what was the point of that post, if it wasn't trolling? You don't need to answer... I know trolling when I see it.OK...I guess I get to spell this out for Trollnsum. That "more average than good line" was in reference to the state of our football program currently (not the spring game attendance-which was indeed very good). Sorry, I wasn't going to spell it out for you but since you be trollin (again) I figure you actually should be told the correct understanding about what those words in that thread that you continually referenced.
back to thread...yes HC, average need not be rewarded.

What is an "airport"?I was happy to hear a few days ago that he will finally get here for a visit. Assuming he flies into the Lincoln airport, fans might want to line the streets, make signs, and roll out the welcome wagon.
Or, this is the narrative that the coaching community has sold the AD community - hook, line and sinker. It's the nature of the beast. If you do not sign constant extensions, this gets used against you in recruiting.
While there's truth in what you are saying, coaches with extensions aren't necessarily dead men walking... Withhold an extension from a coach who has had some tough years and you better believe that hinders recruiting that much more than the coach with the extension. It's just the nature of the beast. How do you as a coach, with no extension, assure those you are recruiting that you will be there?Or, this is the narrative that the coaching community has sold the AD community - hook, line and sinker.
Every college basketball coach that steps up to a better job recently signed an extension, and every college basketball coach that gets fired recently signed an extension. And yet, opposing coaches are still whispering to recuits, 'Son if you go to ____, Coach ____ blank might not be there when you're a senior"?
The logic behind the "gotta have an extension if you want me to recruit" argument died about 20 years ago. Now it's just a generous severance program for millionaires.

Miles can't really afford to lose White for next year...
He's not going anywhere. He's going to hear "son you have to improve your ball handling if you want to play in this league".
Or maybe he plays Euro ball, gets some cash and gets coached by professional coaches for a year to get him prepared for the NBA

If I was a basketball player with a legitimate shot at playing professional I would turn pro as soon as possible.
The D League has come a long ways in the last 9-10 years. Competition is light years better and the coaching is great. Factor in that you don't have to worry about school or the practice restrictions put on by the NCAA, I think it's a no brainer.
You mean except for the fact that you are only making about 24K per year and you have to bus it to games, and sleep in flea bag motels..other than that, D league is great.
I would take the 175-300K tax free and play overseas over D league, and if I was good enough to make an NBA roster, they would certainly be able to find me in Europe playing as much as they would find me in the D league.
