Husker football coaches will be in attendance for a junior college prospect camp on July 22 hosted by Kansas, according to a flier tweeted by the Jayhawks' director of recruiting.
The other schools expected to be in attendance include Arizona State, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Texas-San Antonio, Texas State and Tulsa. All of those football programs are outfitted by Adidas, which is sponsoring the camp.
Mike Riley told The World-Herald earlier this month that Nebraska planned to partner with other Adidas schools for satellite camps this summer.
“Their product, and how they’ve better connected with kids over the course of the last three, four, five years, they’ve made a big move," Riley said of NU's partnership with Adidas. "Our relationship and service with Adidas, I think, is outstanding."
Riley specifically mentioned Texas A&M, Texas-San Antonio, Florida Atlantic and Kennesaw State as other possible partners for satellite camps.
This camp will be in Lawrence, Kansas, and provide an opportunity for junior college prospects to earn an opportunity on the next level. Kansas is home to some of the nation's top JUCO football programs, including Butler, Dodge City and Fort Scott, among others.
Nebraska has not signed a junior college player under Riley. The last to sign with Nebraska were Byerson Cockrell and Joe Keels prior to the 2014 season. Keels came from Highland Community College in Kansas; Cockrell from East Mississippi CC.
