I remember the tiger of old.Watched him today, he struggles on almost every shot and hole. Is he old, body just not made to play anymore? Are courses to tough for him.? I use to love to watch him ,on some of those shots others could never make.

He is only 5 strokes back, parts of his game were solid a few weeks ago. Needs to get the Driver more consistent.
He hasn’t played competitive golf in over a year and is pain free for the first time in like 5 years...yep better to quit just when you just get healthy. Not saying he’s going to be the old tiger again, but man, let him get a year or two under his belt now that he got his fusion.
Golf is better with a good Tiger, ratings exploded. My guess is the players want him to be back with in form!!
I would rather watch Tiger shoot a 72 than another golfer shoot 68.

No, Tiger just needs to get back to his Perkins routine. Just needs a good slump buster.
He can work into better execution on the skill side by simply continuing to play...especially if he remains pain free. Where he killed it in his career is the mental side when the pressure was on. Dude was nails. Hopefully we will see if that is still there once he is playing well in a major.
Not a great Friday for tiger but it’s his second tournament in over a year. I’m not sure it’s fair to expect him to be a top 100 player at this point. Heck, Phil and Rory miss cuts all the time and no one tells them to hang it up or that they’re washed up. I understand that Tiger’s history will put him under more scrutiny than anyone else, but the guy literally has to rebuild his game from the ground up. He doesn’t have the flexibility and motion to use his old swings with his fusion. Most golfers can’t recover from changing their swing even when they’re healthy, much less trying to do so when your body literally can’t do what it use to.
No ... he needs to get his specialty clubs, the driver and putter worked out and he will be fine and will win some.
I don't watch alot golf anymore. But there are still many that do what I do. When I turn on golf, I look to see if Tiger is playing. If he is, I watch. If he isn't, I turn the channel. He still draws. He should leave only when he is ready.

The PGA Tour doesn't allow appearance fees for playing in its events. Although a sponsor can still pay a player to do some glad-handing at a side function, so the ban on appearance fees isn't all that hard-and-fast.
I hope Woods continues to play for years to come. I bet the younger pros pray that Tiger plays his way back into competition. If I was playing I know I would. Younger pros in their 20s are winning majors and have absolutely no fear of Woods but they are aware that he is still popular. They are eager to have Tiger on the leaderboard on Sunday so that they can get eyes on their game..... even better if Woods is leading or within a couple shots of the lead - they know they can beat him. Tiger is nothing more than a scalp for the young guns now.
He's getting closer to the senior circuit. They make decent money there, and the best of those guys still get great appearance fees for participating in this event or that event during the week or on weekends when not playing in a tour event. When he and Phil start playing on the senior tour, it might become more popular than the regular tour. So, if I were him, I'd sure as heck keep working on getting back - particularly getting his putting stroke back.

He doesn't need to retire but ESPN does need to stop making it the subject of 2 full days of coverage every time he has half a decent round. "Is Tiger back? Will he get back? Should he get back? Can he get back?"
No kidding. Already tired of all the Tiger coverage so far this season. They are really overdoing it.
Something considered not too shabby. I grew up surrounded by and watching golf on the weekends. Like it or not, he brings excitement to an otherwise mundane-to-watch sport.
Tiger seems like he’s somewhat of a douche and may have a drug problem. I don’t care. All I know is I’d rather watch with Tiger in contention than what’s now become, “Justin Thomas is our outright leader” and watch them hit the green in regulation and then just putt well.
IMO, Tiger tends to have stage presence. He’s overdramatic and sometimes his plays are, too. I find him more entertaining to watch than virtually every golfer. It’s even more dramatic considering his off the course drama. Sergio can sometimes be as entertaining.
There’s no denying Tiger is the biggest draw. But for me it doesn’t matter whether he plays or not, I’m a huge golf fan so I watch the tournaments.
There are a lot of exciting young players right now, my favorite is probably Jon Rahm however it was great to see Phil win last week.
By the way, I’ve been to the Phoenix Open several times and Tiger hasn’t played at any of them. This year they broke the record for attendance...again.
