He made a bad decision. He only sent it to her. He is not a pedophile. I made a bad decision with a baseball bat and mailboxes. Could have/ should have been a felony. Thank God my elders understood a felony could effect the rest of my life. Mr. Washington deserves another chance. Screwing up the rest of his life is not the answer.
You know that is a perfect example, how many kids 20,30 years ago bashed in a mailbox and didn't realize it was a felony?

Agree, there are 100+ other D-I football programs he could play for. I said the same thing about LP in the 90s. It's arrogant to think that this university and coaching staff are the only ones that can help them turn their lives around. It's possible that another environment might actually be better for them and help them realize that actions have consequences.

Why should something he did in high school preclude him from being at UNL but not any other school? It’s not like he messed up during his time here and should look for another environment. UNL is the other environment for him.

He sent a text message with a video to girl that has already seen it before, let’s not act like his life is in disarray and he needs counseling. This isn’t a pattern or agregious. It’s a momentary lapse in judgement during a heated exchange with someone he has a long history with. He didn’t behave violently. He didn’t do anything close to the level that LP did. Let’s not blow this out of proportion....turn his life around? Give me a break.

People seem to be perfectly OK with that program doing some pretty sleezy things and cutting every corner, but if a Bama player was charged with what Mo is being charged with, it would make headlines too.
they may depend on where it happened, if a different state than alabama, yes, if in alabama, maybe not

NU is the different environment of which you speak. He wasn't at NU when this went down.

Bashing a mailbox is not automatically a felony, that is prosecution discretion. And no, the examples are nowhere in the same ballpark.

You tell me how many kids know it a felony? Unless you read the inside of a mailbox, a kids not going to know

If we want to argue letter of the law and potential federal prosecution Washington could potentially be looking at a mandatory jail term of many years, far more than destroying a mailbox.

I'm not arguing with you, I was stating not many kids know what is a felony like bashing a mailbox I doubt many know it a felony to post under age porn

He lied directly to our coaches and his attorney:

"Washington says he was befuddled by it and would never send a video of a sexual nature to an underage girl."

He's still posting vulgar/immature stuff on Twitter, which Frost said he wouldn't allow.

That second tweet reads like a big F you to the coaches & school. Yikes.
I kind of remember when it happened. The first tweet was in response to an Iowa troll calling him trash, after he received some kind of recognition. And the second tweet was his response to people trying to tell him to take the high road. It reeked of immaturity.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. IDC if he tells Iowa fans to S the D, but that second tweet made me shake my head.

He needs to take his baggage to another program. Take care of your legal troubles, go someplace else.

Kid lost his father at an early age and he strikes me as one that needs structure (being football) in his life. Without it he probably won’t progress in society. Now, if he becomes uncoachable then he should hit the high road. That second tweet is very immature on his part.

Was the 2nd tweet vulgar because I honestly have no idea what he was trying to say...

This guys a clown lol. Enjoy the wins and all this that comes with it. If SF was a man then word is bond. No grey. But it’s clear he’s not a man of his word and is about wins. Say whatever you want about SF as a coach(yet to be determined) he is not a man of his words.

I have zero respect for him. To be clear I had none before based off all the LP stuff but to come out and state alllllllllll he said about standards and accountability and treating woman blah blah blah he’s turned into the same old Scotty.

Hiding and no where to be found. MO will likely get a slap on the wrist but based off SF “expectations” of his recruits per him he’s failed to live up to his own words by not dropping him from scholy for sending this video.

Mistake or not these were his standards no one else’s and he’s proven to bend the man when needed/fits his best interests not even 1 year after making them. Stand up fella ya’ll are behind.

He also talked about unity and sticking with his guys no matter what. No sure when he talked about how to treat women. Think you just made that up to fit your narrative.

I just get this feeling that California wants to make an example of MO.
That's why I mentioned about the economic status of his area and of his family, I you have a name (Clinton) you might not even be charged and if you have a ability to pay for a high dollar lawyer a good chance you'll beat the charge. But if your average person your probably sunk. Sadly that how today's judicial system works

I can guarantee you that Hillary Clinton has said things just as vulgar and bad to people as what MW has posted on social media. He's just not smart enough to keep it out of the public arena and doesn't have the media covering for him. Wealth and political power comes with privileges ordinary citizens don't get.

Pretty much everyone here agrees that Washington likely broke the law and deserves some sort of punishment for it. And even though we have no Earthly idea what his punishment will ultimately be, some feel the need to masturbate to their Sean Hannity fathead and conclude that he's the victim of a left-wing conspiracy. Good Lord, grow up.
