Do agree that there are certain situations where speeding is warranted and doesn’t deserve punishment? It is the law.
There is always (or should be) context and discretion for law enforcement, prosecutors and judges. These types of laws and cases are really difficult. Frost truly is in a no win situation already, because literally no matter what happens he'll be criticized by one faction or the other. We all know that if Mo is kicked off the team he'll be in another program in 10 minutes.

There’s a lot more to worry about here than just Washington I’m getting the boot. How do you explain a college freshman getting representation by the former Attorney General of the state. People in the program knew what was going on, got him top notch representation, and hoped it would blow over. Well it didn’t and now we’ll see how this unfolds. Aweful look for Frost, Nevraska and the B10

I think it refutes the assumption that has been made in this thread that Washington didn't know it was child porn, dude who he went to school with was charged with it and was either convicted or pleaded to possession of child porn in 2016. It's highly unlikely Washington was not aware of that.

I am not advocating jail time necessarily, I do not feel this is the type of athlete (or any student) that should represent the University of Nebraska.

That's a good point. Another factor to consider.

I am not convinced of that, and it's irrelevant anyway. Washington was 18 years old, fully an adult according to the law.

I believe he was 17 when he sent the video in March, wasn't he?

Edit: looks like he was 18.

For those on the side of no he shouldn't be kicked off the team and he should be given a stern lecture.

If this was your daughter would you feel the same? She was mostly over the issue and getting on with her life when she reached out to and tried to congratulate a friend for realizing his dreams when he responded with a video and calling her a ho. Having the opportunity to play on national TV, reminding your daughter with every article and highlight of his attempt to humiliate her, especially knowing the original incident put her into a spiral that led to her having substance abuse and mental health issues?

I sure as hell would go scorched earth on the guy and not rest until he faced the consequences of his actions.
It would be hard to deal with your daughter having threesomes at 15. Daddy having a hard time with his baby girl getting out there doesn’t change the dynamics of this nor should an “insecure daddy” mob mentality.

Don't you have to be found guilty or admit guilt for it to be a "crime"...right now it is an accusation of a crime, correct?

if the former attorney general, not the present one, is in a law practice, why couldn't he be anyone's representative. some guys can read anything into everything.

I would be pissed no doubt 100%. Just because I was pissed doesn't justify me wanting to ruing another kids life over a stupid choice. Again if it comes out she was raped, this is all horrible. If he knew she was raped he is a horrible person for saying and doing nothing. Then rubbing it back in her face, we don't want that kid any where near here.
The problem is many of you are already treating him like that is what he did. As of now he had nothing to do with what happend to the girl. He sent a video back to her to try and hurt her. He is guilty of be and Ass and most definitely not someone I want anywhere near my daughter. I just don't think it justifies the potential punishment he faces.

This is an emotional issue. She was probably raped. The idea she had a threesome by consent doesn't fit with the story that I have read

I 100% get what you are saying and I would feel the same exact way if it was my daughter. All dads would

He could be, Im nit denying that. But you’re telling me this guy is making himself available for pro bono representation of football players? Because I doubt Mo Washington could afford him at his normal billing rate. All I’m saying is that fact looks like there more underneith than whats been told so far

You know maybe a good punishment for him would be to community service and help out at a shelter for raped and abused women. And also go into high schools and give a talk to the kids of what he did was wrong/stupid and against the law.
Can't let the stupidity of this post go.

So, in order to teach the child porn distributor of a possible sexual assault a lesson, let's put him in a shelter with women who have been assaulted! I'm sure those women would have no problem with this, as long as it goes towards making his life better.

Brilliant!

It seems more plausible that she consented. Just so hard to believe that rape/sa charges wouldn't be brought if it wasn't - especially with video evidence. Add to that the fact that she was actually expelled leads me to believe that she isn't being honest. Just an opinion though.

Bad day of spelling for ya... we’ll see.

Again, Washington's lawyer has referred to it as a sexual assault himself. IANAL, but to me that makes me lean more towards believing the girl. Even if she agreed to it, it doesn't sound like she agreed to them filming it which makes the act of doing so a form of sexual assault itself.

Yes, I agree.

I think once she found out she was a film star that having a conversation with her parents about always wanting a threesome changed to something else very quickly.

Unless it was just a small portion of it, and the DA found it easier to make it go away by convincing a kid to plead to distribution of child porn.

Wow, just wow. Why would he be Mo’s?
give me a reason why he wouldn't be, He could be mine if I needed one or yours if need be. He accepted the case. Isn't that really all that matters. I am inferring by your statement there is some kind of graft here. But, any citizen is entitled to representation and it is not against the law for anyone with a license to practice to accept the case. Did someone ask the former AG to represent the case? maybe, but the former AG is now a private citizen and, as such, can represent anyone who asks him.

You are a piece of trash, accusing a then 15 year old girl of being a porn star and labeling her a liar. What the hell is wrong with you?

This is where your attempt at trolling went completely off the rails.

Yeah, she was expelled for getting raped. The rapists got probabation. I don’t know all the info, but neither do you. I take the side of innocent til guilty and that in this situation guilt would only deserve a minimal punishment. You takes the side of throw the book at him without taking the dynamics of the situation into account.

I am only commenting on the info I had read. Contrary to the opinion of themselves, obviously, the media is not always accurate or complete with their shoddy opinionated "fact" gathering. That is even more reason to let due process play out and let MW have his day in court.

how would you know that?
Well, because it is what I would do. I can't imagine having a conversation with my parents about having a 3some and saying that it was what I wanted to do.

With that said, if I was raped, I would not only report it, I would want the people that did it to be killed...immediately.

So for me, it doesn't add up.

I'm still not sure what you're trying to say. Where are you getting the 100s of videos from then?

someone on here complained about the old guy who had a bunch of videos was a a pedophile and then wanted to say the Mo shouldn’t be treated the same way. Just trying to point out the foolishness of it. Apparently I’m not doing a good job, sorry.

Lets be clear, sending a video over the internet of someone who is a minor engaging in sexual acts is a federal offense, felony level. Washington was legally an adult when he did so, not a kid.

Except for the girl, who is a guilty lying person and a whore according to you.

So you really think that HS aged kids, in America, that have cell phones don't take and send pictures of their wangs, boobs, butts or who-ha's?

You really think that?
My son is in Junior High and they had to go to a complete cell phone ban because of this issue. It is becoming a major problem in schools.

I neither said "porn star" or "liar" You did.

You weren't insinuating that she made a pornographic video? And you aren't insinuating that she lied to her parents because she was afraid of admitting the truth? Please explain what you mean by the quote then.

Uh oh...don't tell that other poster on this site that things teens are the most moral and virtuous people in the world.

And it is a HUGE issue...not to the kids but to the adults that have to deal with it.
