Who would have dreamed, a 4-8 season could possibly end up with more hope in front of us, than we’d have right now if our team, headed by coach Riley, was closing out an unlikely 8-4 regular season and came out on top in a mid-tier bowl game..?
As Husker fans, nobody should blame us for exhibiting some serious excitement, going forward.
1. Imagine the recruiting boost, even if final ratings don’t break the top-25, in February.
2. Imagine a well-coached, cohesive, confident and competent team.
3. Imagine games where every player plays every down with complete effort, and to the whistle.
4. Imagine a coach with Riley’s, I mean Scott's calm demeanor and class.
5. Combine these attributes with team CHEMISTRY, understanding UNITY transcends the odds.
We begin a new era. A nation of college football fans in the 80s and 90s doubted ‘old-fashioned’, run-first and forever, approach; it was "out-dated", but it worked.
Whatever you want to call what Scott Frost uses to get it done; going forward, just speaking as an average fan with no coaching experience, I’ll be content to just sit back and enjoy the ride from here on.
Longing for the good-ole days isn’t necessary anymore. It’s a new generation of Husker football, and it began with the Moos hire.
FINAL COMMENT: If our fans are willing, even if not entirely able to ‘class-up’, I predict a lot of fun in Huskerland for the foreseeable future.
