Thought I could kick off this exercise in crystal ball futility for 2017:

Arkansas State - Win - Blowout but hand wringing from many defensive lapses
Oregon - Loss - Close road loss sealed with a late interception by the Ducks
Northern Illinois - Win - Huskers win comfortably
Rutgers - Win - Huskers win comfortably
Illinois - Win - Huskers win a sluggish, boring game
Wisconsin - Win - Defense seals the deal in a close game, learning how to finish off the opponent
Ohio State - Loss - Tanner Lee out for the season, in comes O'Brien. Hand wringing begins after a bad loss
Purdue - Win - Huskers win a closer than expected game
Northwestern - Loss - Northwestern has a lousy season but still manages the upset in Lincoln
Minnesota - Win - Huskers win a close game, O'Brien is out for the season, in comes Gebbia
Penn State - Loss - Close at halftime, but the depth leads to a second half blowout
Iowa - Win - Iowa and Nebraska play a close game with NU pulling it out late

8-4 record, which means no celebrations from the optimists or the pessimists.

Best Unit (Season): DL
Worst Unit (Season): OL
Breakout Star: J.D. Spielman

Really? Predicting we lose two QBs over the course of the season? Come on. I hope this is supposed to be poking fun at how ridiculous some of these preseason predictions can be. If it is, then well done. If not, then this is trash.

Should win against Ark St, N ILL, Rutgers, Ill, Purdue, Minnesota
Toss ups Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Oregon
Underdog Penn State, Ohio St.

puts one at 6-6 to 10-2 if everything goes to form. Fliped a coin b/w 8-4 and 7-5...it was heads...thus 7-5

Arkansas State -Loss- 1/2 the starting lineup is injured in a freak pileup exiting the team bus.
Oregon - Loss - Oregon breaks out the Tulane look alike Unis and Tanner Lee is confused all day
Northern Illinois - Loss - The Mascot is adorable and extremely distracting causing complete dissaray
Rutgers - Loss - Huskers lose comfortably
Illinois - Loss - All three QBs are hurt in pregame warm-up drill. It was determined that Matt Turman still has one year of eligibility but he just can't compete with the younger athletes.
Wisconsin - Win - Wisconsin oversleeps and doesn't show up until the middle of the third Quarter. Huskers win 28-27.
Ohio State - Win - Micah Parson enrolls early at NU, has 12 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions and catches 6 TDs passes. The Heisman is handed to him after the game.
Purdue - Win - Come on! It's Purdue...
Northwestern - Win - Northwestern loses the toss and the game
Minnesota - Win - Minnesota rows the boat to the 1 yard line only to be stuffed by Tanner Lee at Middle Line Backer. He's so good, he plays both ways.
Penn State - Win - Flooding in Pennsylvania keeps the crowd at home and the Huskers hit a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth to win.
Iowa - Win - Ferentz shows up wearing an "I love Tanner Lee" T-shirt and the Huskers cruise.

With a 6-5 record the Huskers win the Big Ten Championship and Harbaugh cries

With a 7-5 record they sneak into the Bowl Championship series after 20 teams ahead of them are immediately suspended by the NCAA for undisclosed violations.

Huskers play for the Natty by beating Ohio 63 -3. They face UCF in the Championship and after falling behind 6 - 0 in the first half, Scott Frost is named head coach at halftime and guides the Huskers to a 7-6 victory.

Honestly, 9 wins 3 losses. GBR!

Unlike last year a win over Oregon might really propel this team. Possibly 10-2. Hopefully that would be enough to get us to Indy. Too many questions marks though. I'll say 9-3 and finish 2nd behind Wisconsin. Losses to OSU, Wisconsin and PSU. At least we'll take out Iowa this year!

Two comments. When folks have to use phrases like "hopefully 10-2 gets the division crown" you know its probably not the AD's expectation this year.

And two, if you switch Wisky and Oregon, I basically have the same outlook as you predicted. I bet my buddy we'd win both of those games (Iowa/Wisky) this year.

It's really tough to get a feel for this year! Lol

With a total of 365 points scored by the Offense and 25 by the Defense for a total of 390 points put up on the board by the Huskers.

I see 8-9 wins and 10 if we have some balls bounce our way.

It will take a minimum of a 9-3 record (Oregon W/L won't matter unless we are a playoff-caliber team) to beat out Wisconsin for the B1G West crown. Their schedule (even with Cichy out) is the complete opposite of last year. Aside from BYU away and a young Michigan team at home, we might be their toughest game this year.

OSU - PSU losses
Oregon - Wisconsin - win one of these
NW, Minnesota, Iowa - win 2 (2 of the 3 are at home)

4 of the toughest 7 games are at home

Win the bowl game OR win one more of the above

9 wins

10-2.

Losses to OSU and PSU.

Why so much love for Oregon out there? Losing season last year. All new staff this year.
Northwestern game a toss up? We win by +14

We get Iowa and Wisky at home with no Tommy Armstrong to gift wrap a victory like he did for Iowa two years ago.

I think we are going to surprise a lot of the experts this year.

Ill say 9. New qb and hamstrung a bit w injuries and depth issues out of gate.

Hopeful, the rb' s can pick up some slack. A little touch on passes should help.

Where's RedRover's Kool-Aid when you need it?

Arkansas State - Win
Oregon - Win
Northern Illinois - Win
Rutgers - Win
Illinois - Win
Wisconsin - Win
Ohio State - Loss
Purdue - Win
Northwestern - Win
Minnesota - Win
Penn State - Loss
Iowa - Win
CCG - Loss
Bowl - Win

11-3

I am pumped about this team and think it will be our first 11-win team since 2001.
