Seahawks at Vikings

Rooting for a good game, until the late 3rd, maybe the start of 4th in last night's game, it was a pretty dull day for football. Part of me wonders if that will continue until tonight's game. This one has the makings of a blowout IMO.

Why do announcers have on winter coats and scarves? They aren't fooling anybody, we know you're inside and heated. If you weren't, you would have hats on, and we could see your breath and icicles on your eyebrows. As soon as the camera us off them, you know they are stripping off those coats

Bud Grant is still nuts going out for the coin toss with a Golf polo on....

Vikings move into their Viking ship stadium next year won't ever have to deal with going back to the old MET days like today's game.

I hope every recruit that makes it to the NFL, that ever said, "I want to play somewhere warm." Has to play in game temperatures like this. Laughing

BTW mods, please delete my duplicate thread. I'm over not seeing Carrie Underwood.

Been a Viking fan since my Uncle and Aunt had season tickets and gave me an autograph football from the 1969 Team that lost the Super Bowl to the Chiefs.

Vikings don't look as bothered by the cold, which shouldn't be that surprising. I think Seahawks are going to miss Lynch in this game

I don't think there are many Vikings players that are used to playing in this cold of weather.

This is awesome! Yeah, it sucks to be out in it, but this is FOOTBALL weather. Fantastic game so far. So glad this game is outdoors.

One team has 86 yards and the other has barely over 100 at the half. This is basically soccer

Not at all. Soccer is soccer. Hard fought, tough defense cold weather ball rules. As long as the score stays close it's a still a contest. That's part of what makes it great.

To each his own but I think if every game mirrored this one the NFL would be in the tank

How come when it is really cold there's always some fat idiot dudes going shirtless, but never some hot chick's in bikini tops?

Cuz the hot chicks don't have balls.

Usually. Laughing

They need a new holder... 2nd time he had the seems the wrong damn way.

I've got to believe that given the extreme temperatures he was explcitly told to just get the ball down and don't worry about spinning the laces out of the way

Who knows you might have something there... Too bad the Vikings shouldn't have blown this game.

LIttle things....Little things....

Wilson was all set to take the huge loss when the ball was snapped over his head on their TD drive. The ball was snapped so far behind him, that when he looked, the Viking defenders hadn't reached him yet. He had time to get back up and throw a school yard pass to Lockett. Instead of 2nd and 20 from midfield, it's first and goal at the 4.

After Peterson's fumble, the Vikings had Wilson all but sacked back at mid-field - which would have set up another 2nd and 20+. Instead, he gets just free enough to chuck the ball out of bounds, saving at least 10 yards of field position.

Then, missing a 27 yard FG is almost unheard of in the NFL. It shouldn't have mattered that the laces were in (he made a 49 yarder with the laces in earlier) - the ball could have been laying on its side and an NFL kicker ought to be able to get it through the uprights.

I was at a watch party today and it was insane when Ray Finkle - errrr Walsh - missed that kick! The neighborhood around my buddy's house sounded like the 4th of July...fireworks, etc going off for over an hour! Go Hawks!

omg --i was at speed skating practice just south of seattle and when the kick was missed i went skating like a fool high fiving everyone some said it was karma for that horrible DPI when the WR just ran into chancellor as he was just standing his ground
