Scouting the 2020 walk-on class

Probably a bit of an overlooked and much needed addition to the program, Chase Contreraz might be the kicker that helps Frost and company to be on the good side of some of these close games.

Colorado State transfer, Zach Schlager, should add some important depth at inside backer.

Nouredin Nouli, another Colorado State transfer, will be on the two deep right away (if he has immediate eligibility). He has great finish and great feet. I believe he will play at guard.

Isaac Gifford, brother of Luke Gifford, will add depth at S. If he gains mass like his brother, I think he ends up playing in the second level of the defense.

Casey Doernemann from West Point, NE.

Keegan Menning is a giant from Fremont. Needs to develop a little bit more athleticism. He has the frame to play at some point. Will be interesting to see his development.

WR-Ty Hahn dominated 8 man football. Should be interesting to see how he does with the Skers.

Broc Douglass is a WR from Grand Island. He has good size and athleticism.

Isaiah Harris is a RB from Millard South. Only 5’8”, has great acceleration.

Trevin Luben is an athlete from Wahoo. Will probably play safety at NU.

Matthias Algarin is an interesting walk-on from MN. I believe he is going to run track at Nebraska.

Great work but Isaac isn’t a walk-on. On scholarship this fall and that likely will get bumped up to spring with recent spots opening on the roster

WR/TE from Aurora, Nate Boerkircher, is a big target that played in an offense that threw the ball all over the yard.

Baylor Brannen is a DL prospect from Millard West

Elliott Brown is a wide receiver from Elkhorn South. Impressive kid.

Ashton Hausmann is a running back from Norris. He is also a 100m track standout.

Mason Nieman from Waverly. Played QB during his senior year. Will probably be a WR at NU AT 6’3”/6’4”.

Eli Simonson is an OL/DL prospect from Fremont Bergan.

Grant Tagge from Westside could develop into a good one at safety.

Xavier Trevino, OL from Lincoln Southeast has great feet and great finish. Doesn’t fit the mold in regard to measurables of an OL for this staff. We will see where they slot him.

We just lost some quality walk-ons and it’s time to reload. The team needs good walk-ons pushing scholly players every step of the way and some will get their chance to be solid contributors on game day.
But the importance of their role beyond game day should never be undervalued.

I love seeing the Braden Klover one. My son played with him and they are both seniors this year. The two lead that Southern Raider team.
