Schreiber Named Honorable Mention All-American

Nebraska’s Scott Schreiber collected honorable mention All-America accolades from Perfect Game/Rawlings College Baseball on Monday.

The sophomore from Menasha, Wis., was named to the list after garnering second-team Midwest All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) two weeks ago. He also earned first-team All-Big Ten accolades after leading the Huskers in home runs (16) and RBIs (55), while ranking second on the team in batting average (.325).

Schreiber’s 16 home runs led the Big Ten, while his 55 RBIs ranked second to Michigan’s Harrison Wenson, who had 56 RBIs on the year. During league play, Schreiber finished the season tied for the league lead in home runs with six and led the Big Ten with 25 RBIs. Schreiber’s 16 homers were the most by a Husker since 2010 when Adam Bailey hit 18 and the most by a Husker sophomore since 2004 when Alex Gordon led the team with 18.
