Nebraska gets a Leadoff double to start the game and does nothing. Shay gives up a 2 run bomb in the bottom half of the 1st to put the Huskers down 2-0.

Just checked in on the radio feed…5-2 TCU in the fourth. We are walking the ballpark again - 7 free passes so far.

EDIT - 7 walks and we also hit 2 batters through 4 innings. Yeessh.

6-3 bottom of the 7th. We’ve given up 10 free passes and struck out 8 times. If we can turn the corner on those two categories we are not a terrible team. Unfortunately those are two categories that tend to separate a good team from a bad one.

Figured Gomes would have success as a pitcher but the offensive start is really a pleasant surprise given that he hasn't done it for so long. Glad to see it.

I feel like the hitting will work itself out from the veterans but the pitching feels like we are light years away.

Five hits today, one single, two doubles, two home runs. Seems unbalanced.
Schanaman leaves after four outs all of them strikeouts, surrendered just one hit. Also walked three, plunked two. Seems unbalanced.
