After some consideration, I think this team and coaching staff will be fine and give us plenty to cheer about in the future. I just do not know if that is the near or distant future.
I think we are all so beaten down over losses in games like this and the continued letdown over the last decade that we are probably overreacting a bit, myself included.
That all being said, I cannot wait until Saturday. Post-loss depression waned a bit under Pelini because I expected the losses. Riley has rejuvenated my spirit. That coupled with the way we lost has left me in an unusually deep sports depression. It just hurts.
I hope we come out Saturday and destroy South Alabama and stay healthy. A win this week and a win over Miami will put us all in a better mood.
