These days, kids can play a year of college and get paid… before getting paid… so why not?

I suspect the motivation is to try to improve his draft stock by playing for a better team. IF he wins big at a Norte Dame he could creep in to the first round.

Unpaid? Not so sure about that. I think the NIL stuff needs to be tweaked, but doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon.

We can get into free tuition, clothes, gym, books and fees, food, apparel, tutors etc. but that wasn't enough for some apparently. We have kids walking away with a free masters education (good for them honestly) but that doesn't matter? Would cost well over $100k for out of state athletes....Kids were also given $3,000 stipend to do what they wish with.

Football players work their dicks off & are on the clock 24-7-365 in exchange for those things

Meanwhile guys in suits sign billion dollar deals based 100% on their work and they get none of it

There is absolutely nothing that requires the university of Nebraska (or any other program) or its boosters to participate in NIL
In fact after reading some of the arguments I think it is high time for the university of Nebraska to put their collective foot down and resist the evils of the free market and capitalism

I do see some people who enjoy football but are tired of the NIL, portal stuff...migrating to FCS, Division 2 and Division 3 to watch football...not many will, but some will.
