If talking wins games, we'll win a lot of games. I hate when guys making millions tell their players to do their job. Rhule's job is to motivate, recruit, and create the competition to bench the guys who aren't playing at a high level. It isn't up to players to police players, it doesn't work on a team with no established NFL talent. Everybody is equally bad on this team, at this point. Nobody has won anything. When I hear any organization tell its main workforce to police each other, it just means the boss doesn't want to do it. Now if we had some Peter bros, or Wistroms, or Sapps, or Lewis' then it is a bit different...at that point the players are so talented and tuned in they don't even need a coach, they could probably gameplan and run practice on their own. Accountability in any workplace only comes from competition, and that comes from talent.

Well by the words in camp at least the culture is different than what it has been and that's cautiously a huge positive. But whether it will actually count or not will be seen if/when that attitude holds up under adversity when they're in the 4th Quarter and behind with minutes to go. Will they have that attitude to finish? We'll see. That's a lot of what the team lacked the last few years when they lost so many close games. But it's new coaches with a very large roster turnover so they do have a decent chance to be in a different mindset.

Interesting. It was clearly directed at someone in particular. Or a group of people. I hope it was Betts and not a bunch of talented guys who've been loafing it and might not play because of it.
The volleyball team is right. The football team had softness inherited by Frost, Davison, Alberts. Rhule is changing them
I think Rhule wants them to hold them accountable in the locker room. It was successful for northwestern for a while.
I think Rhule addressed this with his Matt drills. Every one of them had to do competition to the end and encouraging and carrying your teammates. Staying at the dorms was for bonding purposes only. Under Frost there was zero competition and accountability, and no team unity, that had to be taught this year.
Coach must be a huge David Goggins fan. Finished Goggins's first book last week and this is almost verbatim some of the stuff Goggins says.
