I think it is fair to state that there were many recruiting misses under the previous coaching staff and that has contributed to our lack of depth. What options does the team have to clear up roster spots for individuals that are clearly never going to contribute at Nebraska? Are we stuck with these individuals for a full 4 years? It seems (I do not have raw data that supports this) that some other conferences (e.g. the SEC) generally have much larger signing classes. They must have a process to eliminate recruiting mistakes (e.g. honor scholarships due to injuries, pull scholarships, force/encourage transfers etc.) I don't want to be cold hearted but our approach feels like this puts us at a competitive disadvantage.
