Ronnie Green Retiring

Didn't seem to me like he was in that job all that long but maybe time is just flying too fast for me.

he will be missed

Rhule mentioned the importance of leadership alignment when he was hired...hopefully the next chancellor will be aligned with him.

This is excellent for the University of Nebraska. Ronnie Green is one of the most incompetent administrators I've seen at this University for the longest time. Also, his boss Ted Carter is equally incompetent as well. There is a desperate need for an overall leadership change and this is a good start towards that goal

When he retires he will have been Chancellor for 7 years. I think he did a pretty good job keeping everybody happy and was effective in his job. However, after the fiasco surrounding him walking back his statement: "We believe in the freedom of speech, and encourage the expression of ideas and opinions, and we do not tolerate words and actions of hate and disrespect”, I stopped donating to the NU Foundation. If the next guy or gal doesn't set himself/herself up as being the oracle of what speech is hateful and/or disrespectful, I may start donating again.

Good. Loser should have went before Frost. Complete mishandling of the University resources by refusing to do the basics of his job. Criminal what they were allowed to get away with. Unfortunately none of the local media felt the need to make it public. But the same dipshits were concerned so much about where a coaches wife was living in Lincoln. Now maybe more people will wake up to the dangers of unchecked departments, and program inbreeding

If the past is any pattern (its has been), some other ass will come fill the seat. Not excited at this news.

It looks like you and RecruitingAnalyst_National have the same opinion on this. Interesting.

Wasn't he the guy that saved Frosty from the chopping block last year?
No. Trev could have axed him and Greene would have supported him. I’m kind of surprised that the Illuminati on this board still don’t understand who has pulled the strings of the football program for the past 20 years. You have to kiss the rings.

Ronnie is a good man. Perfect? No. He who is cast the first stone. Yes I have my beef with him over Frost and wokeness of unl . But I believe he's a good man that's made mistakes under pressure

We're just getting older 😆
I think he has to be at least 66. I’m pretty sure his wife Jane was a senior when I was a sophomore at NU. There is no reason for him to want to keep working. Their retirement package is obscene

Edit: he’ll be 62 when his contract expires in June. Jane is older than him. Damn she was a sweetheart as a coed. One of my roommates had a serious unrequited love for her 😃

Is it a mistake to carry out the wishes of your bosses?

Probably so. Family and faith. Can't argue with that. Money in the bank is always good. Capitalism. Unfortunately with an ....insert word........twist

Should be taken away, with cause. What he allowed to go on unchecked in North Stadium was basically theft. Complete dereliction of his job duties.

don't really follow chancelors..
all I know is alinement = vital
Bad take. We just had “alignment”…. How did that work out? It enabled a bunch of lazy, immature clowns to run around unchecked

Bro seriously thinks that the chancellor's job is to direct the athletic department instead of possibly dealing with issues not only at the three campuses in Lincoln but also at Curtis and all of the extension sites (which makes the budget/profits of the athletic department look like a poverty program)

Apparently even Trev didn’t have a good handle on that until Frost’s assistants ratted Frost out. Greene had a helluva lot more on his plate than baby sitting Frost. Again both Trev and Ronnie serve in very political positions. You’re naive if you think either of them was going to upset the apple cart last year. Personally I think it took some balls for Trev to pull the plug as early as he did before Frost got to some games he could possibly win this year and Greene had no problem approving the funds to get it done.

And with that, that’s as strong of an endorsement that Ronnie Green could get. He will be missed!

You could say that "we're close" is what saved Frost from getting the axe last season.

Best losing team in history ☹️ Trust me I have several booster of substance friends who were all echoing that statement AND “if Frost can’t do it who can”. They didn’t know what a cluster it was behind the scenes.

I’ll say there was a poster on here before the season warning us how Frost was crapping the bed but most of us didn’t want to hear it. He was right. I had said from day one that year 4 for Frost should be the measuring stick. I should have stuck to that.

Honestly I think by year 3, when we are getting boat raced by Illinois and Minnesota, Frost should have been gone then. However, he got a pass for COVID, even though everyone was affected by it, not just Nebraska.

Also, not playing in a bowl that year after all that pissing and moaning about wanting to compete. IMO that was when he should have gotten the axe.

There were a ton of sports teams who stood pat with their coaches because of COVID. I don’t know if Tom lobbied privately to save Frost’s job a year ago but I imagine he had conversations with Trev where the topic came up

I think the COVID excuses were highly overblown. The evidence was there in year 3 that Scott Frost wasn't fit for the job (getting blown off the field by Minnesota and Illinois).

Sure seems evident now. You’ll remember 9 win Bo getting blown out too though.

Bro actually knows the guy is responsible for not letting the drunk that was supposed to be in charge of the department, not even be at work for months…. While drunk off his ass multiple states away.
Yeah, excusing this kind of bullshit is a big joke, isn’t it?

Trev has to answer to someone when he wants to fire the “lazy, entitled, and arrogant” coach that the cleti still loves. Green didn’t stand up to them, and that was that.

It’s not naive to expect someone paid that well, to do their ****ing job. You can excuse it all you want, the guy is a spineless clown. In the non-woke real world, shit needs to get done. When you prove you cannot do that because you’re scared? You’re gone. So glad he got his handout for doing nothing.

Didn't we get rid of the guy that Green directly oversaw that was drunk (Moos)? According to the geniuses here, Moos was more or less forced out, and if that was true, would that have been likely Green's doing? If you're mad that we haven't gotten rid of Trev yet, you're beyond reasoning with and should be lumped with our national recruiting analyist.

This brings me to another point. Yes we know Scott and Bill needed to go, but I hear all of these rumors from the message boards that he was drunk all the time and that everyone knew it but I have yet to see it actually be stated by anyone of substance in the media. Maybe I missed something or some interview on Lincoln talk radio becasue I'm not plugged into Lincoln and I'm not a national recruiting analyst. IF I did miss it please, please, please send it my way.
