The Huskers hosted a big-time offensive lineman for a practice visit. Rivals100 four-star 2024 prospect Ian Moore took in Nebraska’s Saturday practice.

I briefly exchanged messages after the visit with Moore as he was in the car on the way home. He detailed why he wanted to take the trip to check out Nebraska.

“Because I grew up in a football household hearing about the oline culture in Nebraska, so that played a big factor,” Moore said. “Also, a couple of relatives played sports at Nebraska and through my recruiting process they’ve just been saying I need to see it.”

Moore holds over 20 scholarship offers including from Ohio State, Wisconsin and Iowa. The Huskers are right in the mix for the prospect that is being recruited by a lot of top offensive line developing schools. The Indiana native got to see a lot while he was in Lincoln for this visit.

“I got to see everything,” Moore said. “Coaches are great, the players are great and the campus was beautiful.”

The Huskers have a trio of offensive lineman committed for the 2023 class. The team is likely looking for one more lineman in the current class but it’s important to build for future classes too. Being in the mix for Moore is a good sign for first-year line coach Donovan Raiola.

Moore was glad that he was able to make it to Lincoln for practice and came away with a favorable impression with Raiola.

"Even though it was just a walkthrough coaching was still really intense and I enjoyed that," Moore said. "Coach Raiola was still coaching the guys after everyone else had left and you need that kind of intensity in your coach."

The lineman said that he "100%" wants to come back and visit Nebraska this season for a game. He talked with the coaching staff about it during his visit and they are targeting the Georgia Southern game.
