RIP Jerry Jeff

Recently I heard Todd Snider tell a story about playing Luckenbach, Texas because his hero Jerry Jeff Walker played there a ton. The two later became good friends and Walker would drag him around on adventures. He said one trip they ended up in a small Arizona town and drank till they closed the whole town down. The two of them were walking down the now empty street and in the distance they hear a busker playing Mr. Bojangles. They walked up to the guy and listened all the while the guy not knowing the man who wrote the song was in front of him. He said Walker took all the money out of his wallet and tossed it in the bucket and just says "Thats a pretty good song ain't it?". They then walked off into the night.

While not country, litespeedhuskerfan , Kieth Richards still defies all odds!

Not a big fan of country music, but some talents are so amazing that they transcend genre. I will have to play a few of Jerry Jeff's LP's.
