I think we can all agree most coaches have a better record with a returning starter in their system @ QB than a first year starter, And while Riley is no different in this regard, the difference is really dramatic. Riley's overall record at OSU was 93-80. Here is the breakdown with a returning starter(s) vs new starter(s):
Returning: 55-35
New: 38-45
Riley and Langsdorf are as good as anyone in the country in terms of grooming QB's and putting them in a position to succeed. The +27 record disparity proves that, and is especially impressive considering they were generally less talented than most of their conference foes while at Oregon State. We know that is not the case at Nebraska.
You can tell me I am drinking kool-aid, but something tells me Tommy is going to get much better this year (he'll still make some mistakes) and that is going to be a big reason we have a 4 or 5 win jump.
GBR!!!
