Ask Tommy to complement a ground game with a variety of 20-25 throws. We are asking Tommy to do too much plus we need to shorten the game for our defense. Pound Wisconsin back into the stone age. I see Riley agrees with my sentiments from the presser.

Ride them out? Behind this OL? ok.

I'd like to see us as a run dominant west coast team. I like a lot of what we do, but it'd be nice to have our identity be an "if in doubt, grind it out" style. Should help on 3rd and short and in the red zone.

Well at this point what could it hurt. Funny thing today, I was at Lowes picking up a few things and the cashier asked me, "So what did I think of the game Saturday." He went on to say, "You think Riley gets it now we need to run the ball."

Sooner or later he (HCMR) must understand that the BIG isn't fancy pants offense, it's smash and grind....I didn't watch the presser, but from what everyone is saying, HCMR seems to understand he lost the game mainly because he and DL didn't stick with what seemed to be working effectively with OZ......

Agreed. Sounds like these two guys are going to be our one, two punch for the rest of the year. Which is great news for Tommy and should take some of the load of his shoulders.

According to the latest news, Oz and Jano are the guys with Newby sprinkled in for a changeup on certain plays.

I don't think however, that Langs is just going to feed those two for 70% of the plays.

I don't really like Jano at tailback, but I love running him from the FB position. He seems more effective there and it makes our O more versatile.

I would love to see a variety of two back sets. These two guys could really complement each other running a conventional pro style under center or shotgun snap.

Seriously, i think Janovich is more than capable to be the one back in a single set formation.

Newby just isn't stout enough. He needs to be the change of pace back. Devine and Andy have shown they can get up field fast and punish the tackler.

This game with Wisconsin this week feels like a must win game at this point. Lose and things get uglier - lose badly and its possible he loses the players in his first year - first half of the year - which would be almost the kiss of death for him at NU

This has gone south pretty quick and he needs to turn the momentum around so to this game

Wisconsin is not running the ball very well this year - we should be able to control this aspect of the game even if short handed a bit. Stave has never done well under pressure with accuracy - we need to blitz him every passing down - if we give him time he has shown to be a bit more accurate this year

Their defense is still pretty good especially the LBers's and secondary - Thye are undersized on the Dline - if there was ever a time to commit to the run game this is it. If we get pass happy TA will have some turnovers and this could snowball against us

Wiscy will dare us to pass just like Illinois did. Is anyone confident that if Wiscy stacks the box that we can consistently run on them? I'm sure not.

I would bring everybody up too. That's the smart play. What we need to do is run miss direction and play action off motion. Use andy as a reciever in a short controlled passing game off motion. Thesprinkle a few medium passes off play action and one deep to keep them honest. Use your two stud backs and mobile quarterback to your advantage in the passing game. All these plays gives Tommy the option to pull the ball and run if things breakdown. That's what i would do .

I like the idea of being more run-centric, but I think the thing that disappointed me vs. Illinois was the lack of awareness of the situation, more than the number of passes. Cold damp windy day doesn't call for 31 passes, especially with Tommy looking "off". However, in other games he has looked VERY capable of 31+ passes. So I just hope to see the coaches feel the in-game vibe better than they did as much as anything.

I thought Stephenson was going to play or is transferring?

This year can't end soon enough.
