I’m terrified. How much do we lose by?
just lots of ppl mavsker included are very intrigued by our match up with minn this yrWhat exactly are you terrified of? It’s Minnesota, not Georgia. The last three years they have beat us by a TD by running a bunch of rugby scrums and waiting for us to implode. Maybe they do it again, but they aren’t anything to be terrified of.
Hope they’re not very good. I want us winning right out the gate. Then build momentum off that and imprinted in these kids heads.Minnesota lost all of their 12th year seniors. They wont be the team they've been the last 3 years
That backup qb looks like he has way more potential than Morgan. It's not an ideal game for a first year coach but certainly winnable.Minnesota lost all of their 12th year seniors. They wont be the team they've been the last 3 years
Frost opened at home against a 3-win team that fired their coachIf I had to rank the most difficult debut game for a recent Nebraska coach, this would be it. On the road against a conference foe we haven't beaten since 2018. Riley and Frost were also dealt bad hands for different reasons. BYU was a tough match up- a bunch of tough nosed veteran players used to playing various away games. Callahan and Pelini were blessed with soft landing debut games.
I assume he's referring to the lightning game being canceled.Frost opened at home against a 3-win team that fired their coach
There are bad posts, there are awful posts and then there is this one

Riley debut was a Hail Mary loss.. No other way to put it..I don't mean to sound like a Frost or Riley apologist. I think it's fair to say that getting your first game cancelled last minute and then playing a Power 5 team as your debut (albeit a 5 win team) with a veteran QB and excellent receiver is less than ideal. As for Riley's debut, playing BYU is a tall order. Even so, both games were quite winnable. Rhule's debut game, I still believe, may be the biggest challenge of the three.
duhFrost's debut game was cancelled due to lightning.
It you want to look at that way sure. But the first game was canceled..duh
thus, he opened against CU - a 3-win team that fired its coach
I appreciate your high standards for Nebraska coaches and agree, that 2018 CU game was quite winnable. Honest question, do you think Rhule's debut game is more or less challenging than Frost and Riley's? Strictly speaking to the opponents rather than a commentary on specific coaches.duh

Yes, although a bad Power 5 team is usually tougher than a bad G5 team.duh

I would say more challenging because unlike Colorado, Minnesota actually had a winning record.I appreciate your high standards for Nebraska coaches and agree, that 2018 CU game was quite winnable. Kong, Colorado fired their coach that season in 2018 and hired Tucker and we went into Boulder and shit the bed in the 4thQ..duh

Perhaps if we could have played against Akron that year, we would have been better prepared to face Colorado, although I guess you couldn't call Akron a gimme game considering we got our teeth kicked in by Troy that yearAgreed.
Minnesota won 9 games last year and it's an away game
Colorado won 5 games in 2017 and 5 games in 2018
BYU won 8 games in 2014 and 9 games in 2015, plus I believe they were missing some players from a bowl suspension.
Frost's debut game seemed the easiest of the three despite the odd circumstances. Rhule seems to have to the toughest game.
