Rhule is the right HC for Nebraska

I'm not a fan boy. As a fan growing up to witness Osborne's consistency and last 5 year masterpiece, I appreciate Flecks style. He isn't Osborne but he understands you have to establish the run. Him and Campbell have done a tremendous job of doing more with less. His recruiting rankings are always 38 to 50 and he goes bowling. I'm done talking about this with dudes who act like little gossiping teenage girls who would rather see us struggle to go to bowls than have a successful program because someone "comes off as a douche". We won't hire Fleck. But he would kill it here. And newsflash, OSU fan wants Day fired and a lot of them would have no problem hiring Fleck to replace him.

OSU fans would lose their fvcking minds if they hired PJ Fleck.

Colorado’s three losses are to Nebraska, Kansas and Kansas State. Who have a combined 17 losses, and are probably the three best teams they played. All “Coach Prime’s” success and improvement came from switching conferences and playing a super soft schedule.
KU has 5 wins.

Yeah I get so sick and tired of people talking about W-L records in different conferences. NU would be a 9 win team in the Big 12 too. Wisconsin, UCLA, and Mich St would be among the best teams. It's a terrible comparison.
And to compare the old Big 8 or the Big 10 of the Pelini or Solich years to today is a joke. In the 80s Kansas, K St, and ISU were among the three worst teams in all of college football. Missouri was right there with them most of the time. Okie St and Colorado had some good years but weren't usually top 20 teams. It was Oklahoma vs Nebraska and a lot of blowouts. Getting to 9 wins was almost a given.
In 2002 NU went 7-7 losing badly to every ranked team they played. In 2003 NU lucked out by playing an atrocious Penn St and not playing Oklahoma. They got beaten badly by Texas and KSU.
When Nebraska entered the Big 10 it was a pretty bad conference with a couple good teams. In 2011 Ohio St had its worst team in decades and we pulled out a win because their best player got injured. 2012 was pretty much the same with a nice win at home over Michigan and a couple embarrassing losses.
As the conference has improved top to bottom and our coaching changes being Riley and Frost back-to-back, we now have to work our way back up in a more challenging environment.

Luv him or hate him but Fleck gets a lot done with not as much talent
I don’t like his rah rah routine but he has taken Minnesota to 5 bowl games and winning all of them.
He does a nice job at a school without a lot of pressure and makes a nice living doing it. It's not a bad lifestyle.

Nebraska could very well be in the playoff had they played in the big 12 with Colorado’s exact schedule. The B1G got more competitive than when we joined, and then the west coast teams joined. There are four very good B1G teams this year and they are in the playoff. Going forward into the future there are more than four that want to compete to be one of those for on a yearly basis. Nebraska wants to be one of those teams.

I doubt NU would have made the playoffs if they were in the Big 12.

Shit, we're two years into the Rhule regime and have yet to beat a good team on the road.

Winning the BIg 12 would have required beating someone worth a shit on the road.

We gotta quit asking this team and this program to do things they haven't proven they can do. Right?

They're talking about it on 11 as we speak and anyone mentioning it isn't receiving 10 percent of the shit you've given me lol

Oh yes, I forgot you were a PJ Fleck super fan. Disregard my reply; I thought I was talking to a sane person.

On this issue we disagree and you are wrong. I'm not a superfan of Fleck. I just know he would turn it around here and wouldn't care about his personality because we would win again.

You think he would turn it around here. I think he would sustain our current level of success, just like he has done at Minnesota. Also I can’t stand him.

And what would that “young and hungry” coach do differently?

I can assure you that Rhule is working harder than any coach I’ve seen other than Callahan who is his equal. So the younger coach wouldn’t work harder. He wouldn’t recruit harder.

So what would that hypothetical coach give us?

And what would a young coach’s staff look like? What tenured coaches would come with him?

We saw what Frost brought with him. He was young ((and not hungry). Coaches build their Rolodex over a long period of years. Young coaches do not have a lengthy list of contacts they can lean into when hiring to fill a staff.

Be careful about what you’re asking for my friend.
So Rhule flipping through his rolodex to give us Satterfield-Foley-McGuire et al was a good thing?

12 of 18 B1G teams won fewer than 8 games this year

I’m turning down PJ Fleck, yes. I think fanboys of PJ are giant douchers … I’m look’n at you bruce.
Dude wins, and his players don't act like hypocritical dorks and just destroy the opponent on the field.
