Yes. When we joined, we were only given a half-share of the membership revenue rights of other Big Ten schools. That expires this year, as we gain full membership and should earn (projected) at least $40 million from the TV deal. Maryland and Rutgers, it should be noted, got slightly better deals when they joined (as they were actively courted so that the Big Ten could gain access to East Coast tv markets), while we were fleeing what appeared to be an imploding Big 12 conference and just needed to get in.
So, yes, we're going to get double the money, plus, I've always thought the Big Ten was a much better conference to belong to, both for the fun athletics and absolutely for the academics. Turns out, the Big Ten was pretty innovative with its Big Ten Network idea, and we're about to benefit from that tremendously.
