Can someone assist me concerning TV revenue sharing?

2011 $14M
2012 $15.4M
2013 $16.9M
2014 $18.7M
2015 $22M
2016 ?
2017 ?

is it true that they are projecting Nebraska to maybe receive as much as $51.1m for 2018?

Yes. When we joined, we were only given a half-share of the membership revenue rights of other Big Ten schools. That expires this year, as we gain full membership and should earn (projected) at least $40 million from the TV deal. Maryland and Rutgers, it should be noted, got slightly better deals when they joined (as they were actively courted so that the Big Ten could gain access to East Coast tv markets), while we were fleeing what appeared to be an imploding Big 12 conference and just needed to get in.

So, yes, we're going to get double the money, plus, I've always thought the Big Ten was a much better conference to belong to, both for the fun athletics and absolutely for the academics. Turns out, the Big Ten was pretty innovative with its Big Ten Network idea, and we're about to benefit from that tremendously.

People are still confused, NU did not get a worse deal...we chose to have money witheld and used to buy into our share of the BTN...Rutgers and MD could not afford to do this so they are getting "more money" up front but are having to make payments back over an extended period.

Their entrance isn't better, it is different.

Thanks for clearing that up.
