Football Reports: Nebraska trying to hire Phil Simpson (edit: officially hired 12/9)

According to multiple reports, Nebraska is trying to hire Phil Simpson to coach the outside linebackers/edge rushers.

Simpson was a defensive quality control coach at Nebraska in 2023 and was a big part of the Huskers' recruiting efforts to land the Miami guys in the 2024 class. He left the program early this year and spent the 2024 season at Florida State.

According to multiple reports, Nebraska is trying to hire a familiar face to its coaching staff for the 2025 season.
