NU was down by 24 early in the 3rd quarter of that one - and looked completely outclassed and unprepared (against a team NU had defeated the year before). The frantic comeback fell short. Coincidentally it was an INT on the first play of OT that ended NU's chances at Miami, just like the INT on the 1st play of NU's final drive yesterday.
There was a lot of glad-handing that day, too. A lot of pride that NU "Played hard. Didn't quit. This bodes well for the future..."
Similar to MSU in 2014...
Maybe this time it really will be a sign that NU is building something, rather than a case of this is just who we are.
