So assuming that this is the list and that we will be taking around 10 more commits, who do you think we get? Also let me know if I'm missing anyone and I will add them.

I thought Fitzpatrick and Reese would be committed by now to us but there still not, I believe we are in Lamar Jackson's top 2? And I believe Farniok is a Husker lean. My guess Reese and FitzPatrick and possibly Farniok will be Huskers, outside them....no idea. We could use that top 100 DT and a good speed rusher DE.

I think Butler also is good friends with Fitzpatrick and Resse and all three will be N together.

Alright, time to go out on a limb. My somewhat educated guess (spend way to much time on these boards) is that we will finish as follows. Since Rivals only counts the 20 highest rated recruits our class score will be:

2 5.9 4 Stars = 240 points
4 5.8 4 Stars = 420 points
9 5.7 3 Stars = 810 points
5 5.6 3 Stars = 375 points
Bonus points for Top 250 = 95 points

Grand total of 1941 points which is currently good enough to rank 10th. I suspect that with additional commitments 8 or 9 additional teams will surpass 1941 points. So our final ranking, if everything goes as planned, will be either 18 or 19. Would that finish be enough to make Husker fans happy?

Compared to where we are today...yes. Overall? Not really. Most first year coaches at big boy schools have great first years. Furthermore, that's about what Frank averaged during his tenure, even including the years that Pedey was sabotaging the program, and we fired him.

Tom, not looking for an argument but I have an alternate take on that. Recruiting in 2016 is very different than recruiting in 2000. While I agree that Nebraska is a big boy school, we have always had recruiting disadvantages that the other big boys don't have. Nebraska was never a school that consistently, if ever, recruited in the top ten. Yes we occasionally had highly regarded classes but that was the exception and not the rule.
Nebraska, in my opinion, should be aiming for classes ranked between 10 and 20 with hopes of occasionally working into the top 10. Truthfully, there is very little statistical difference between being ranked 10 and 20 (currently 190 points). So, again in my opinion, if you can get a class ranked between 10 and 20 that ticks off all your recruiting needs then you really have a pretty solid class. I think we will do that this year and despite a terrible year on the field MR and crew will have done a pretty good job. If the class finishes like I expect then I would probably give the staff a solid B to B+ for this years class.

Frank was also measured against the Ferrari he was handed. I don't think anyone is going to discount that Riley has to build, rather than maintain peak performance.

In the hands of Saban, we would have rolled for another 20 years. Frank and crew basically never left Lincoln to recruit and it ended up manifesting itself on the field.

Coming off the 90's runs, we suffered some of the same "pro Nebraska" bumps in recruiting that UT and other schools have received. If NU wants them, they must be good. None of that is really at play for us now and our recruits only get a bump if other schools like Oregon come sniffing.

I have to agree with you here. I don't really see a coach on the horizon that's going to have us in the Top 5 recruiting year after year. Or even the Top 10. That includes Frost. I think maintaining a steady presence in the Top 20 with occasional bumps up into 10 and 5 will give us all the talent we really need to be in the conversation on the field.
