Here are mine:

Southern Miss - Should win and get back to 2 & 2.

Illinois - Got drilled by North Carolina. Should be a win to get us to 3&2.

Wisconsin - 50/50 game for me. Joel Stave isn't Brad Kaaya and they don't have the athletes Miami does. Their line is not as good as previous Wisconsin lines, and for the first year i many years (same as NU, they don't have an elite RB). I like NU at home 4-2.

Minnesota - Not impressed at all thus far. Hell even SMU looked ok against TCU for awhile. I like NU. 5-2

Northwestern - Going to be a tough game. They have played well early, and have a pretty salty D thus far. Although at home, I'll say Northwestern because they have looked good, although I think we can beat them at home. 5-3.

Purdue - Should get the win. 6-3

Michigan State - Gonna be tough. Stout again, and Cook can sling it. 6-4

Rutgers - Dumpster Fire 7-4

Io_a - I think we get the win. They are still Io_a. 8-4

I think 8-4 is about right with maybe us losing to Wisconsin and maybe beating NW, but it is not also out of the realm to only lose to MSU going forward. Take a look at what we have remaining. That is not a daunting schedule. I'd take one loss at MSU and a Big 10 Championship Game birth.

I'm cautiously optimistic on a 9 win regular season. Heck, I wouldn't pencil in a loss to MSU just yet either. Let's see how things play out in October. Clean a few things up and we'll be a dangerous club. Just have a good feeling!

Here are mine:

Southern Miss - Should win and get back to 2 & 2. - I say 50/50 win- loss

Illinois - Got drilled by North Carolina. Should be a win to get us to 3&2. - Also a tricky game depends on Off - win

- Loss

Minnesota - Not impressed at all thus far. Hell even SMU looked ok against TCU for awhile. I like NU. 5-2
Loss
Northwestern - Going to be a tough game. They have played well early, and have a pretty salty D thus far. Although at home, I'll say Northwestern because they have looked good, although I think we can beat them at home. 5-3

Loss their defense is too good.

Purdue - Should get the win. 6-3

Win

Michigan State - Gonna be tough. Stout again, and Cook can sling it. 6-4

Loss bad loss

Rutgers - Dumpster Fire 7-4

Win Rutgers has no secondary as they are all suspended

Io_a - I think we get the win. They are still Io_a. 8-4

Loss

4-7 or 5-6 depending on the game this week

Still don't know what this team is all about yet or even how good or bad they are. Everyone kept saying we will find out after the miami game, yet I came away more confused than ever. Are we as bad as the first three quarters of the miami game or are we as good as we looked for the 4th? Did miami let off the gas and getting two of their top defensive players ejected in the 4th disrupt them or did we just dominate them that much? I don't know and I don't know when we will know.

With that said, quality of quarterback and our ability to stop the run (since we are told that is what our defense is designed for) will determine our record
Southern Miss =W
Illinois = W
Wisconsin = If our defense can truly stop the run, I don't think Stave beats us with the long ball. So W
Minnesota = Also not impressed yet. They can't throw the ball. = W
Northwestern = Going to be tough game. Again, If our defense is truly built to stop the run, I don't see Thorson beating us deep.
Purdue = W
Michigan State = L, Cook may look like a heisman winner after this game. (think Melvin Gordon last year)
Iowa = W

this is just what I expect. Our saving grace is that we are in the BIG west. If our defense does what it is designed to do and we get DPE back to help get us some ground game going with the fly sweep (watching Brandon Reilly try to run the sweep is sad) I think we are in good position. Now we will get destroyed by Michigan ST. and then in the BIG championship game.

Agree. With Minny at their place, it will be very tough to win. And don't discount Iowa - they don't have impressive athletes, but are playing much better than us as a team. We could easily miss a bowl this yr, but if Banker can pull us through our CB poor play, it could be as good as 7-5.

Which team are we? The one that played in the 4th quarter vs Miami and most of the 2nd half of BYU - or the 1st quarter of last Saturday?

We don't know. I think our D matches up pretty well with everyone left on schedule except MSU - although every upgrade NW made is working on O - they have not sustained that in past seasons due to lack of depth.

Injuries across the Big 10 will determine alot - but the number of 50/50 games at home should get us to 8-4 (9-3 if we improve running the ball and the pass rush).

This team can easily lose 7 out of 9 games left but could also see them winning 8 of next 9. It all depends on if Riley can coach this team up to its potential. Honestly I see us going 7-5 6-6 range. Getting a winning record and bowl game should be considered ok 1st year in.

We could go 9-3, we could go 5-7.

We're really riding thin on spots due to injury, whether you believe the talent is there or not. We have a punchers chance at MSU although I consider that our only for sure loss, and I think a lot of the other teams we'll be able to play with even somewhat deficient. The tossup games, Minny, Wisc, and NW, I think its really going to depend on what the injury situation is at that time, we're only a couple snaps away from not being able to really start a full defense.

I know its more fun to be optimistic than pessimistic - but realistically there is no way we should be expecting a winning record this year with this defense and an offense learning a whole new system. I am hoping we do not have a complete meltdown game like 2004 TT or 2012 UW

this stuff is so funny. I don't know why I even posted. We are not going to have a losing record. WE could get our ass handed to us a time or two but seriously. Just jump people. I'm going back to lurking.

We will likely be favored in 6-7 of our remaining games. That doesn't guarantee wins but you seem to be putting the Big Ten West division on a pedestal. Yes, we do have our issues..some major issues. But so does every other team in our division.

Don't take the So Mississippi game forgranted. They played miss state tough for the majority of the game. They put up huge offensive numbers last week and we have a cosgrovian defense. We should win but this will be no gift.

Anything is possible in this day and age...but we are currently favored by 24 points. With that said...I fully expect for them to throw over 300 yards against us.

Which teams are capable of passing the ball? Those are the teams we need to worry about losing to.

Right now Nebraska is 126th in pass defense and 124th in penalties. Those two things need to be shored up in a hurry.

I predicted losses to Miami, MSU and either BYU or Wisconsin but not both before week one for 9-3 with a sho at 10 wins in the bowl.

Absolutely nothing I have seen thus far makes me question that yet.

Nobody left on our schedule is capable of spreading out our defense and getting the ball downfield like BYU and Miami.

The frustrating part is we were capable of get 10 or 11 wins in Riley's transition year. I honestly penciled Michigan State as our only sure loss. Yet now that puts us at 9-3 and the crying for poor Mark will start.

4 more regular season losses.

I figure there's gonna be status checks pretty much after every game as to where everyone thinks we finish. I think I'm gonna wait until after the Illinois game to ponder the rest of the season. Are BYU and Miami that good, or are we really not good. Is it great qb's killing us, or can a marginal qb beat us in a passing game. Are we good on run defense because teams are going to the air. Just have to wait and see.

Wes Lunt is an "okay" qb and Illinois is kind of a balanced attack team. How we do against Illinois will be telling at least by my reasoning. We have some history and maybe can judge a little better where we actually stand.

Wiscy, Minnesota,Northwestern and MSU. Hope I'm wrong but don't think I am.

The advantage we have is Wisconsin is the first and Michigan State is the last of that group on the schedule. Michigan State will most like kick the ever living crap outta us. And we have hopefully recovered enough to beat a down and out Rutgers before going against Iowa. Wisconsin is the second toughest team and they are first outta the gate. Stay relatively healthy and get some breaks and that game is very winnable. Minnesota and Northwestern follow and play to our strengths and not our weaknesses. To lose all four would mean we would have to be the unluckiest team in America. We have to catch a break against someone???

MSU isn't kicking the crap out of anyone. Their back 7 on defense simply isn't good enough at the moment. I'm just not sure Tommy Armstrong can take advantage.

Southern Miss - Win. 2-2.

Illinois - Win 3-2.

Wisconsin - I think NU wins this game. it's at home and I agree that Wisc is not as good as in recent years. 4-2.

Minnesota - I think NU can win this one as well. If they knock off Wisc the momentum and confidence should carry over to this game. 5-2.

Northwestern - They beat Stanford, but the game is at Neb. I think it could be a toss-up right now. I'll give it to Neb at home. 6-2.

Purdue - Win. 7-2

Michigan State - Sparty looks like a legit title contender and even at home I can't give NU the win. 7-3.

Rutgers - Win 8-3.

Io_a - Home game and I think NU has more to prove. 9-3.

This was the toughest non-conf schedule NU has had in a while. NU almost won all three games. I feel good going into the Big 10 season.

MSU is still pretty dang good. Tommy can take advantage as he is a different QB this year. I'm just worried if he will have any time to throw in that game. Back 7 may be down, but Our O-Line needs to pick up their game.
