Ref gets slammed

I like this kind of stuff. Of course it's not sportsmanlike and maybe assault for knocking him over, but I wish it happened more often. If ref's had some fear of retaliation, maybe they would call a cleaner game. Currently, there is no real mechanism for that sort of thing.. they are untouchable.. and maybe they shouldn't be.

Same with bad posts on msg boards. Someone should come to your house and beat the shit out of you.

I'm at a complete loss for words when it comes to thinking like this.

Parents need to be sued for everything they own, probably don’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out all things considered.

There is a ref shortage. If knocking them out was allowed there wouldn’t be refs at all. Then fans who have no clue would yell “over the back!” Every possession when it’s not even a rule.

Lots of opening for refs at the lower levels, sounds like you could sign up and show them how a clean game is called. Give it a go!

Rumor has it that the Ref used a racial slur against the kid. Completely justified response on a fascist, racist SOB.

Without seeing what drew the flag, how can we be so sure the kid was in the wrong?

You serious? So, if I get your point, the kid may have been in the right to charge a ref and lay him based in a bad call? As a former school administrator, I should never be surprised by the justification of actions.

I wish we could do this to a few B1G Refs 🤣 no seriously, I don’t think 🤔 you can do this...

The district acted swiftly and did remove them from the playoffs. It’s the right move. There are a lot of shit for brains things we’ve all done-bullying in my high school was very rampant now that I look back on it.

Word is that this kid was defensive player of the year last year in his region and has a temper/motor. Blew it for the team this year and hopefully rattles his cage. Very impressed the way the school board and district didn’t flinch. Hopefully coaches use it as a teaching moment.

It’s ugly to watch and there’s no condoning it, but it’s not as petulant as watching adults argue and fight at football games in the bleachers, right? Screaming from the bleachers at umps at baseball and basketball games? #amiright?

Too often people see and think in a linear fashion. Turn things upside-down once in awhile and you will see things from a completely different perspective. It's how contrarians operate. So no, there isn't anything wrong.. I just refuse to be trapped in looking at things from only 1 viewpoint. So I could ask the same question of you.

Not sure the whole team should be punished for this guy’s actions.

there is no accountability for the referees.. so things like this happen.

then another higher authority, also with no accountability, responds even more harshly.

welcome to socialism

I do agree that there is no accountability for the referees I’ve said it a number of times that the head official for each game should have to answer questions after the game just like both teams and players, but I don’t condone this kids actions I don’t know why he was allowed to stay on the sidelines he should have been escorted to the locker room with a coach so he could have cooled down

I would also like to see the replay official answer questions for CFB. Replay is accelerating the ruination of officiating at the college level.

I don't think you're breaking any new ground here.

There have been people who believe you should be able to beat the shit out of anyone you disagree with for eons.

Fortunately, most civilizations have rejected that line of thinking and have installed varying degrees of law and order.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time.

Bad parenting or lack of parenting has its drawbacks maybe mommy and daddy will raise the dozen or so remaining kids with a little more respect for people if they have to pay thru the nose for the actions of the gentle giant in this case.
