A lot of talk since we lost some defensive linemen about bringing in some JUCOs to replace. Considering that they wouldn't be here until 2017, is this a good idea?
In 2017 at DT, we'll have 4 returning DTs all with likely a considerable amount of experience, 2 sophomores and 2 juniors. Seems like it would be better to focus on bring in 3 freshman DTs and let the best of the bunch be the 5th guy. If one of the Davis' were to go pro after 2017, then bring in a Juco in 2018.
In 2017 at DE, we'll have 1 senior, 2 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 2 redshirt freshman. Probably best to bring in 2 freshman DEs.
Sure, if a sure fire AA wants to come at DT or DE, then bring him on, but otherwise it's better to go young.
