I see that Mikale Wilbon has dropped to 4th on the RB depth chart and true freshman Tre Bryant is listed ahead of him.

I was thinking that it was said after the spring that he would be pushing the top two RBs, so it surprised me to see that he is behind Bryant.

Any word on WHY Bryant has passed Wilbon?
- Starting kick returner, so they want to get him on the field as a RB since he is not redshirting??
- Wilbon is having behind the scene issues that is keeping him down? (Not sure what the exact reason for lack of playing time was last year.)??
- Wilbon had a horrible fall camp??

Just throwing out ideas. I don't have a clue.

Wilbon is ineffective in the passing game, specifically pass pro. So it wouldn't take a genius DC much time to realize that when Wilbon is in the game it will be a run play.

Thank you; and Tre has been called a natural at pass pro, also a gifted route runner. I believe it was one of the coaches recently said : " That the top backs are all better this year; than the best one could do last year ". So it appears all have been working very hard; the best world for us. .... A poster that seems well connected; said Tre and Devine are probably doing the best in practices. I think Tre represents our coaches having a talent for recognizing recruits who could have the " it " factor ( they are looking for it ). We simply have a bright gifted young player making his mark early; and coaches who told him this path, and are rewarding performance ( Yes ! ). GBR

I respectfully think he should move on to another program that is a better fit.

Bryant is very talented. Can't believe Rivals had him ranked so low. Bryant will get reps on offense by B1G play for sure. Wilbon seems to have gotten the off the field stuff figured out, but just passed up by two better backs in Ozigbo and Bryant.

I think part of what is going on here with regard to fan response to Wilbon being 4th string, is that many of us, myself included, may have overestimated his abilities based on a handful of carries. Maybe he really is just an "average" running back.

We probably need 4 RBs to get through the season with injuries - I assume they all could see the field at some point.

Thanks for the responses.

Injuries happen, so more depth is a good thing, especially if they plan on having 2 tailbacks on the field at the same time like someone said in the spring.

Well he is here for this year, so the depth/ injury question is some what irrelevant unless he leaves this week. He has to try to put something on tape to send to potential landing spots. His HS tape is now 3 seasons ago.

Wilbon still gives us quality depth, you just never know how health your running backs will be threw out the season.... We need 4 or even 5 backs.
